Any recommendations for playing as Ike?
Overall, I can tell you that using Eruption in the air is a great thing, since there are large hitboxes, and since his attacks have startup lag and have great range, use them when they come toward you, when they're just out of range. I'll update you with combos after school.

the best way to choose a character is to play the ones you think you want to play. then, play them. if you dont like their playstyle, move on to the next one. just make sure you IGNORE TIERS! dont let tiers influence your choice. if you want to main charizard, go for it!

for playing ganon, just make sure that you have good pressuring, and also SideB -> DTilt is a good combo.
for greninja, using shadow sneak is critical. watch the shadow. also, hydro pump has a good amount of windboxes, so use that to gimp.
for jiggly, stick to the air. its BAir is great for a wall of pain strat.

Thanks dude.
Ike combos:
• DThrow -> UpB
• SideB -> Run -> Jump -> FAir
• B while falling on top of an opponent.
• BThrow/FThrow -> Dash attack

hope that helps

Okay, I've been practicing my Bowser main and I was wondering if there was possibly a way to cancel out his falling lag, he's so easy to punish due to his heaviness I was hoping there was a way to stop a combo like the common Luigi/Mario/Dr.Mario down throw, up a combo

No, I can't find a way to cancel out the falling lag.

do you have any tips on how to practice spacing on the 3ds, that's kind of my only flaw, also if you have any tip for a monado boy wannabe like me, i would apreciate it!!

Thanks!!

For spacing, the only advanced evasive maneuver in Smash 4 as of late is fox-trotting, where you tap in the running direction about when you start to stop. This is good for mindgames as well.

Like I said earlier, you can't stop his landing lag, or his feelz :artist:
But, Shulk is good for spacing and punishing. Roll-dodge spammer? Down Smash. Trying to get you from the air or air dodging? Up Smash. Trying to get into grab range? Forward Smash. Also, use Monado wisely. Opponent at low damage? BUSTER! Opponent at high damage? SMASH! Are you at high damage? SHIELD! That's pretty all I have.

I really want to get in to smash 4 competitively but I'm not very good at it. My favorite characters to use are Mewtwo, Mario, and the villager. Any tips?

MEWTWO
*Make sure to use smashes sparingly.
*Keep your distance a good deal.
*Combo: Down throw > Fair
*Combo: DownB > Full charge USmash
*Combo: SideB > DSmash

MARIO
*Since he's well-balanced, he can be useful in most situations.
*Use FLUDD for gimping/edge guarding.
*There is no attack (besides specials) that can be used in combos. I'll leave experimenting to you ;)

AXE MURDERER
*Villager has an AMAZING recovery if you mash B.
*Use Fair and Bair for good gimping/edge guarding.
*Save a pocketed projectile for later. The opponent will probably forget you have it.
*Speaking of, pocket has invincibility frames.
*Use your Lloid Rockets to recover, or fake a recovery.
*I can't really find any good combos for Villager (yet).

Best counter to Kirby's down air? The rock thingy ._.

For Stone(r)? I would say spot dodge and charge an USmash or roll dodge and charge an FSmash.

In order to get a main you must try every character in the game and see which one you are comfortable with. You can have up to three mains if possible. For me, I only like Shulk because he can alter his abilities. See the pros (capitalize your cons and make them your asset) and work on the combos and their movement, then try it on the cpu.
