Corocoro leaks august 2014 - Mega Salamence, Altaria & Lopunny

From Serebii " The next batch of CoroCoro information has been posted to Japanese forums and this batch showcases more information about the upcoming game Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire. This reveals Mega Altaria, who is Dragon/Fairy with Pixilate and Mega Lopunny who is Normal/Fighting with Scrappy. It also confirms that when you change your Pikachu's clothes for contests, it gets special moves. Pikachu Rock Star gets the move Meteor Mash, Pikachu Ph. D. knows Electric Terrain, Pikachu Pop Star knows Draining Kiss, Pikachu Belle knows Icicle Crash and Pikachu Libre knows Flying Press" and Mega Salamence. Contests are detailed. With you meeting a Contest Idol called Lucia, who will give you special clothes for participating in Pokémon Contests. You also receive a shiny Beldum in game

mega Salamence also gets Aerilate. I personally like all the megas with a Dragon fairy pokemon and a pokemon that's not third gen receiving a mega so they might add more non third gen megas. I'm sorta disappointed with Mega salamences design i don't know I might get used to yet when the games come out. Also with the fifth picture it confirms that contests are back and that a character named Lucia gives you your contest clothes and that a shiny beldum is obtainable in game with the mega stone. I assume that this is the beldum that you get from steven after you beat the champion. What are your opinions on the leak?

I had a good feeling Altaria would get a Mega Evolution. I've always felt that it was an underused dragon, especially in face of other Dragon-Flying types like Dragonite and Salamence. I'm willing to bet Flygon will get a Mega Evolution too considering how Garchomp got one in Pokemon X/Y.

M-Altaria.. that's one fluffy bird fairy thing. Pixilate is interesting and it has access to dragon dance and hyper voice which I like. I'll think more about it when the mega stone has actually been released.

Mega Salamence also looks like a beast. There's a chance Smogon might ban this guy, even with its x4 ice weakness >.<

Lopunny can use Drain Punch on ghosts now. Salamence can get a boost from Aerilate with Thrash, getting a 30% boost and STAB.

I'm kind of ok with the new Mega's, I was expecting Salamance to get one but not the other two. Only thing I have to say about Lopunny is pure Awesomeness it just looks super cool.

I'm really interested in these pikachu contests they seem more interesting with this leak. I do wonder how their moves affect the contests.

Oh, I knew Salamence was gonna get one and I was anxiously waiting. Now, I'm relieved, I think Aerilate is a great ability for it because now we can also get another STAB move on it like Return, etc. I hope he gets a Speed boost too because that new design (even though looks less intimidating) looks quite speedy like a jet or something. I don't care about other Megas.

I honestly want Altaria to be a tank only because once a tank always a tank. I know I'll have a Cotton Guard set with this guy (if I ever get one). Lopunny looks really dumb but I guess it sort of needed a boost in something so it must be a physical sweeper. And of course who wouldn't expect a Mega Salamance coming (600 BST before I think?). However that means the only Dragon left to know about is Flygon the clearly Bug Dragon type.

Thoughts:

Mega Altaria- I was expecting Mega Altaria. I'm hoping it will will becomes an even bigger tank as it already is. It'll probably gain a big Defense and Sp. Defense boost, along with minor boost to the other stats. Also, this thing grew more fluffy and gained the Fairy type. This doesn't surprise me, since I was expecting a big fluffy blue Mega Altaria with the Fairy type. Pixilate is a nice ability, too. I'll use this competitively if I'm looking for a tank-Mega.
Mega Lopunny- Wasn't really expecting this Mega . It looks cool though. Anyways, since Mega Lopunny gains a Normal-Fighting-typing, I'm pretty sure this thing will gain a big Attack boost, also with a good Speed boost. I'll definitely (or maybe) use this thing competitively (no joke). Also, this thing has Scrappy! That is one amazing ability Mega Lopunny got there, IMO.
Mega Salamence- I was hoping Mega Flygon got a Mega, but I guess Salamence is fine. Anyways, this thing looks pretty decent. The ability is okay, too, I guess. I'm expecting a big boost to Attack and Speed with a minor boost to the defensives. Anyways, I'll probably not use this thing competitively, since I want to battle people with unexpected Megas lol.

Wow, I'm surprised!!

First of all, I'm disappointed that Flygon haven't gotten a Mega Evolution, I thought since Mega Salemence has been announced, Flygon would've gotten some love too, but that's okay, I'm sure in the future we'll see something hopefully.

I really like the Mega Salamence's design though, it looks cool, but I doubt I'll use Salamence in Competitive Battling.

Wasn't expecting Lopunny to get a Mega-Evolution, so I'm surprised! The design isn't all that different but meh, I'll work with it. Haven't been a fan of Lopunny so I don't know if I'll plan to use it.

Ah Altaria , I'm so freaking happy Altaria got a Mega-Evolution. This is my favorite in the batch of Mega Evolutions that's been announced so far. I love the design, and I think the Dragon/Fairy mesh is interesting. I'll definitely use this Poke now in Online-Play!

I'm pretty happy for Salamence and Lopunny, but I hate Altaria, so I was a bit shocked. I had no idea that people actually liked Altaria, so that was a surprise. I hope Crawdaunt and Flygon gets mega evos, just 'cause.

Corocoro magazine in japan just released pics about new pokemon mega evos!

heres what I know about these mega evos:
Salamence gains Aerilate
*Packs a punch when Salamence has Hyper Voice as an egg move lol Turns it to a STAB move lol

Altaria gains Pixelate, Dragon/Fairy
*All those time you mock Altaria being in NU is about to change with its new ability (Fairy Hyper Voice? lol)
but then again, Im still curious what Dragon/Fairy Typing would bring in the meta games

Lopunny gains Scrappy, Normal/Fighting
*Still, that Fighting/Normal typing is unique but that scrappy ability would make Lopunny worth something again I hope lol
All I know about Lopunny is that it passes its choice,Iron ball,etc to its opponent with switcheroo without getting the negative effects of the items cuz of klutz.

Well, thats all the info I have about the new mega evos so peace out guys lol

I was really excited to see how Mega Salamence would turn out, since Salamence is one of my favorite Dragons, but in my opinion, his Mega looks terrible. He just looks like some skinny twig now, not the flying menace of the skies he's supposed to be. In fact, he looks like something out of that Planes movie (no offense Disney or Game Freak).

What? Now this is just Fairy type prejudice right here. Altaria is not 4x weak to anything anymore and Fighting types with Rock type moves are no longer a threat. Plus Dragon type moves don't phase it making it my favorite thus far, plus it is clearly more OP than the others and this is the only reason why we have Mega Gross is to counter Altaria (with Cotton Guard and a choice to stay the same). Balancing the Megas won't work when Altaria is coming to clean your full house!

Dragonite and Tyranitar are I think... or Flygon because he's the only Dragon that is left in Hoenn that has the same number of evos as him
