What? Now this is just Fairy type prejudice right here. Altaria is not 4x weak to anything anymore and Fighting types with Rock type moves are no longer a threat. Plus Dragon type moves don't phase it making it my favorite thus far, plus it is clearly more OP than the others and this is the only reason why we have Mega Gross is to counter Altaria (with Cotton Guard and a choice to stay the same). Balancing the Megas won't work when Altaria is coming to clean your full house!
Because me preferring Altaria's original typing is Fairy type prejudice, right? Wrong. I love Fairy types, and I certainly think the Fairy type fits Altaria very well, but there's nothing wrong with me liking its Flying typing more. The reason I don't want its typing to change is because I love making Monotype teams, and I was planning on making a mono-Flying team with Altaria as my ace Pokemon, but now I don't feel the same way because when it mega evolves, it loses that Flying typing. I couldn't care less about what advantages its Mega brings.
Also, I find it a tad bit funny that you're proclaiming Mega Altaria to be your favorite because of its advantages. Why don't you take a look at the quote in your signature?

Altaria is still usable without it's Mega Evo so you should have an easy time making a mono Flying team. Besides, the Mega form isn't good enough for my tastes because of its ability, four move syndrome, and it's more offensive than defensive. I still don't like its typing originally because it is a common type however it has an immunity to ground and that is a good thing. And I don't care if it's your favorite Pokemon at all because you didn't create the Pokemon system and if you don't want it to Mega evolve it's up to you. The point of the quote is that Pokemon in "lower tiers" are just as good as "OU" tiered ones because they can make potential stat boosts/strategies that most people might not see when looking as a whole.

I see Salamence being the most popular of the three mentioned being in OU tier and all that since the beginning and it really needed too. I'm not sure if it has a priority move straight off the top of my head. Mega Lops is neat since it was a boss in the UU tier from just searching it. I don't see it being the next Mega Kang but more like a little weaker Mega Medicham. Perhaps Lops was designed to slaughter Aegislash but I can see battles between them go both ways. Lops might not have that many stat boosters if any. That doesn't mean Lopunny isn't popular because of its design and I can't wait to see what it can do. And like I said before Mega Altaria must be afraid of Mega Venusaur and if Alt doesn't have enough attack moves it can be walled by a lot of different things depending on the moveset.
Aww... Me sowwy.The more I look at Mega Lopunny, the more I like it. They took a lulzy sex symbol and made it pretty cool.
