Do you think we should have been able to nickname villagers?

I know you can set a catchphrase or something for your villagers, but would you think it would have been better to set nicknames or be able to name villagers of your town?

Or do you think the game is good as is, with the default names?

I think it'd be quite cool to be honest, being able to name your own villagers or giving them nicknames would've been cool, But I still enjoyed the game and i gotta play it again, villagers are probably all dead.
If they are I'm blaming isabelle.

Yes, it would be awesome to name everyone in my village something, although some people would go over board and call all their villagers cuss words, then invite people to their town. Not to mention I would name everyone in my town "Gary", but I would name the unpopular one "phil", so that phil knows he must earn his respect. I pay no attention to Phil, and when phil leaves i will name the next person phil, keeping my Gary's safe. It's a very hard life for a Phil in Gary country.

That would be cool but some people would use curse words that were not censored or they could change it so that it looked just like the word and miiverse posts would get quite... Rude. Other than that I think that it would be a awesome Idea I like how you could get a nickname for yourself it would be nice to go hey "Name" instead of say Jay or whatever the animal was named.

I think we should be able to at some random time if you're friends with them, kinda like how they'll randomly ask if you want to be called something.

I would go about naming each one of them "Poyo #1" and so on, it's basically the most creative thing to call people (next to Thing 1, Thing 2...).

I think it would be cool, I mean they give us nicknames and in friendships it isn't a one-sided nickname kind of thing.

I think it would be a great feature for the next Animal Crossing game.
Too bad that there wasn't a Wii U game, but I suppose I will wait for the NX entry?

I feel as though it would make everyone more emotionally attached to their villagers. It's already incredibly heart-breaking when you're favourite villager leaves. However, I do think it could be a cool little feature, unfortunately unless Nintendo installed some kind on censor people would just call their villagers cuss words.

I feel that the game is already as good as it is. I think the names nintendo gave them would be better than what i thought of and like @Edward Elric said many people would call their villagers less appropriate names. Also would be sort of harder to find the real name of a villager online after you go to someones town and see their villager and realize you want that villager to be in your town.

I think you should be able to set names for the villages and I think you should also be able to choose whether or not you want certain villagers to move on or not and where you want to place their house

I don't like that idea. We control the Player character, not all of the NPC's. It'd kind of take the immersion out of the game for me.

I would actually love to nickname them. It gives it more of a personalization to the player.

If the villagers can nickname you, then you should be able to nickname the villagers lol (you are the mayor, after all). Most villagers in your town strive for the greatest relationship with you during their time living there. Nicknames would make the villagers feel unique in your eyes, in turn improving upon the relationship. This is a must have feature that needs to be in the next official AC installment. xP

Well, they are always going to be those who try to cuss with it - so they're going to put a restriction, like always. They are a family- oriented company, after all. And it gives those who are honest about it a better experience, so it's more benifits than losses.

(That or being able to move someone's house in a development plan or something.)

I totally think that they should give you the option of creating there name. It would add a lot more fun to the game. I think that they should still let you make it so the computer would pic the name though because it would get a little tedious trying to come up with a new name for every person in your town. Then you have the new people in town moving in to that you would have to name. I still think it would be a good addon though.
