dodging the blue shell is possible

ive been playing mario kart wii and in a stage with bouncy mushrooms. ( i forgot the name sorry about that) and the cpu players had a blue shell, they threw it i was a the bounce mushrooms and i bounced right when it was about to impact, so i realized in certain stages that either have a way of levitation or bounce its possible to dodge the blue shell, ive attempted it in a different stage in mario kart 7 and it work as well

Yes there are ways to dodge that horrible Blue Shell but it needs very good timing and sometimes certain stages , etc for the trick to work . I once dodged the Blue Shell in Mario Kart DS by letting myself get hurt by a Fake Box at the right moment and I only flinched from the Fake Box and not the Blue Shell .

I was quite proud for doing that

I remember I dodged the blue shell only twice in the game. I knew the blue shell was coming and an opponent was trying to overtake me. I saw the blue shell coming and so I let the opponent overtake. He got blasted by the blue shelland I was safe

I have dodged the Blue Shell twice in my life, by swinging-hopping with the Tanooki tail just as it was about to hit me. The timing is so precise that it's really just chance, it's rare

The best thing to do is to avoid it by slowing down into second place as it reaches you, so that it hits the guy in first place allowing you to overtake them - this sometimes may give you a frustrating second place as someone who was also neck-and-neck overtakes both of you, but believe me, it's better than being hit by the blue shell near the finish line and going from first place into sixth.

I think if you use a mushroom at just the right time you can avoid the blue shell. Speaking of the blue shell, I really hate it! I'll always be in first place get hit by it, and finish last...

I was managed to dodge it in DK pass. A snowball was over me and about to hit me just as the blue bomb him it! The game just registered the snowball as crashing into something meaning it disappeared so I did not get hit out by that either. I avoided both snowball and blue shell, I am so proud

In Mario Kart 7 I found it really easy as long as I had a mushroom. I've done it quite a few times, both off and online, since there's a lot more tolerance to the timing than in previous games in the series.

In MKWii, I never managed to dodge a Blue Shell, whilst in Mario Kart DS, I think I've done it once or twice, but I found it very difficult.

It might be really aggravating to be in 1st place on the last lap and get hit by a Blue Shell.....but nothing is more satisfying than being the one who throws it.

Yeah, it's posslbe to dodge that sucker. But it's extremly hard, and probably the hardest thing to dodge in the mario kart series as well, but it takes extremly good timing and skill to dodge it sucsesfully, it would be better just t olet it hit you then worry about that timing Lmao. But thanks for this post, it's possible to dodge, but need good timing skill and knoledge, stuff which most gamers do not have

Though I haven't tried this since Mario Kart DS, if I saw one coming, I would back up (provided I didn't have an extreme lead) and allow 2nd place to pass me so that the shell would target them. It only worked if they passed you within enough time, otherwise you fell to 2nd and still got by hit by the shell. .-.

I've known it was possible for quite a while now but I've never been able to do it. Thankfully there's that air horn thing that destroys all shells including blue shells. I wonder if dodging it is a glitch or intentional.

I heard that you can use a banana to dodge one, not sure if that's true though. That's kinda weird. It's like a glitch. Also, if you enter a cannon that blasts you to a high place like a mountain top, it doesn't hit you? maybe another rumor. xD

I've seen in MKWii, someone throwing a Banana at a Blue Shell whilst they were going off a ramp, then the Blue Shell just got destroyed like any normal shell... I was pretty confused

I've been able to dodge it using the mushroom speed boost a few times. I usually have such a big lead that I can't let the guy in second overtake me though. But, because of the big lead, I also don't have to worry about getting in sixth place. Most of the time I just stay in first, or maybe go back into second place.

There are 3 ways that I know to escape from the Blue Shell. The first is with the horn in Mario Kart 8 and it is easy to do it. The other 2 ways you can do in other Mario Kart games, the second is with the star, but it's really difficult because you only get the star in 6 place and under, you must keep with the star in the first place but it isn't a good way to dodge the Blue Shell. The last way is with a mushroom, it's the most difficult because you have to use it when the Blue Shell is very close to hit you.

thank you for the tips. now i know how to dodge a blue shell. also, I have a perfect record of dodging a blue shell when I am trying to and have a mushroom at 3-0. I can dodge it now.

Well, there are a few ways. One is to go into the lava. When you go into the lava, you avoid it. Or you can fall down but you have to be very precise. One time online, I got a invisible star, got to first place, and prepared for a blue shell. I used it and wham! Avoided impact. Awesome people like me deal with the blue shell or look at the bottom screen and go backwards and make sure it hits them.

There are several methods of avoiding the blue shell. For example, if you get shot out of a cannon and a blue shell hits you, nothing happens. You can also use a mushroom, but it is very tricky. The moment the blue shell is over your head and looks like it will fall down, you use your mushroom. It is very tricky.

I've never been able to dodge the shell of death. It's basically impossible. A thread of luck may make something happen that doesn't let it hit you, but other than that, it's impossible. Ah, I hate that crappy shell! It can't be stopped! The devil will chase you! It cAnt be stopped! The devils will destroy you!
