dodging the blue shell is possible

I be dodging the blue shell sometimes when I can. I be very desperate to get a mushroom or a super star to avoid the blue shell but sometimes I use the mushroom at the wrong time that the blue shell is able to hit me. If lighting happens and someone had a blue shell, they will miss and you will be safe. If you have Mario Kart 8, there is a new item that is the super horn (you can easily use that to dodge the blue shell)

There are several methods of avoiding the blue shell. For example, if you get shot out of a cannon and a blue shell hits you, nothing happens. You can also use a mushroom, but it is very tricky. The moment the blue shell is over your head and looks like it will fall down, you use your mushroom. It is very tricky.

I don't know why that emote is there but forget it. Anyways, diving it with a mushroom is super easy

With proper timing (exactly after it stops above you), it's possible to dodge it completely if you are precise enough and have a spare mushroom for a speed boost to launch yourself straight away from the blast area in at least most of the games! That way you can avoid both the shell and blast. Additionally, on some levels, you can use the terrain to block them, like for example in MK7 in Kalimari Desert, the train will block blue shells if it happens to be passing by at the right moment (unfortunately that right moment has only happened to anyone I've thrown one at...)!
