I just miss the old wii version with all the cut scenes and the great story and animations that brought all the different characters together. It was so engaging and it made me feel as if I was actually experiencing it. I miss the adventure ssbb brought in solo mode. Don't get me wrong, ssb4 for the 3ds and wii u is still great, but I still feel its missing that great story.

Yeah, just imagine what story could be told with Duck Hunt and even dr. Mario. The story could have been retro based with all the characters going back into gamings past to stop crazy hand, wario, master hand, gannondorf, bowser, and dark pit from alternating the timeline of video games! It would be so cool and memorable

Since I've never played a Smash game before, I've never experienced the stories; thus I didn't really feel any sense of loss over the 3DS version not having a story :p

I liked the story from SSBB. It was so cool seeing all the characters team up to defeat the villain.

Brawl had a really cool story. The 3DS version really lacks a long term story mode. Classic mode is fun, but Subspace really engaged you more. Achievements do take a long time to finish in SSB4, so it still has a "story." Still a great game IMO.

I really miss the story mode as well, choosing characters as you progress and learning more about each of them. It's like you're actually a part of their very world. ^.^

That was my favorite mode out of all of them too. Local co-op makes for more fun! teamwork at it's best! :D

Smash run in the 3DS version is lacking. .-.

I miss the Story Mode a lot .-.

It was nice and fun to adventure through the story, and get to play characters throughout the mode. I got to unlock some things, learn about the fighters, etc. The mode was pretty cool overall.

Although, Smash for the 3DS is still a great game.

I heard "somewhere" that there was supposed to be a story mode for the new SSBs, but bits and pieces of it were leaked; resulting in Sakuri scrapping the entire idea. I'm not quite sure how true this really is though. The rumor was back in 2011 I think.

I've heard of that too! I believe either that's the reason for no story mode, or Capcom and Bandai Namco didn't want their characters in an adventure mode because they're third party, and aren't staying for long.(I think)

I greatly enjoyed playing Subspace Emissary with my cousin. It was a heck of a lot of fun beating up Primids and the like with him (even if he got most of the kills.) It would be interesting to see what Sakurai would put out this time, but I'm just fine have any portable Smash at all.

I heard the same thing. I also remember reading something that said Sakurai was very mad about it, turned into Godzilla, and tried to hunt down the leakers. That's just what I read though...

Smash 3DS is the first Smash I can play for hours and hours in my own Videogame.
So the idea of Smash Wii having a story makes me very VERY sad.
Why can't I have my own Smash with a story? T_T why, Nintendo?

Not sure if ppl mean the brawl story mode or melee adventure mode, but I don't really miss them but they were fun but as long as we can competitively smash im fine. And I'd still like to experience those modes again tho they were unique in their own way!

I am not really sure about this. I never really liked the Subspace. Just a waste of time unless you wanna skip brawling 150+ times for everyone. I also never really saw a real purpose for Snake in it. I think one of the reasons they got rid of that was maybe it took a while to make? I dunno. But the Wii U version definitely pleases me by replacing it with lots of additional small features. All in all, I really don't.

I just liked the story because it brought all the characters together brought to life! They were all very fun to play and it brought smash to a whole new level. Since the Wii U version has so much content! Why can't you add a story mode to top it of? Maybe make it as a DLC or an update nintendo?

Subspace was amazing in my opinion. It had a great story, and that's hard to say about anything when there aren't words :p.

That's why I was pumped for the new Super Smash Bros (3ds/Wii U) because I thought it would have a story. I am kind of dissapointed but that won't keep me from playing the game. The version for Wii was so great because of the cutscenes, those alone gave the game so much replay value. I feel as though I might get bored woth the new Smash Bros without those scenes but we'll have to see.

Now, I don't know which version I want the 3ds version or Wii U version. All I know is that the cutscenes would make the game 1ox much better, I feel as though this Super Smash Bros will have better graphics but as far as being neccessarily better than the predeccessor....hmmm...I don't know about that. Again I would have to play and see because I wouldn't want to judge wothout playing.

Maybe there will be a download extra with these cut scenes or extra stories? I also hope there are going to be more downloadable characters in the future as well...

Super Smash Bros with/without the scenes will be fun regardless. The aspect of the gameplay withn itself is attractive but the Wii version will always be considered one of the best as it seperated itself easily away from Super Smash Bros Melee.

I did like the story but I feel it lost replay value. I didnt really care that it was taken out of ssb 3ds.
