AC:NL Does anyone have 600+ hours on there game plz I need to know that I am not alone

I have around 150 hours in the game so far. I have to say, even though this game is pretty addicting, my town still hasn't progressed much. I mean, I haven't built any roads yet and I only built about a total of 6 public works projects. Keep in mind that I am almost at a year of playing this game ( I started around December 12 or so )
