I didn't care for 8, but 7 and 9 really gave FF life in the PS1 era. pretty sure 9 stood for what Final fantasy is.

Agreed with this one, 7 and 9 is what made us love the franchise
Hoepfully the new one will be another good tittle as the old one since XIII disappoints BADLY...

If not, maybe the one coming in 3DS (Bravely Default) will take Square Enix to another "prime" series

I haven't played any of the recent Final Fantasy games - the most recent being Final Fantasy X - but I'll probably pick this up if and when I get a Playstation 4, assuming I will have sufficient funds when it's released.
