So my partner and I are dead bored of quarantine already...and we're looking for some 2-player games with couch co-op that we could play on Switch! Some of the games we've already played are Diablo III, Children of Morta, and the occasional Animal Crossing: New Horizons. He's more inclined to the two former types of games (action-adventure RPGs), but any and all of your suggestions are welcome!! :D

I would recommend the obvious suggestions such as overcooked, snipperclips, mariokart, smash bros etc....(definitely check out these titles as these have wonderful co op). But you said that he's inclined to rpg games so i guess i would recommend mario+rabbids. I personally haven't played it but it has really good reviews and it goes on sale quite frequently. But imo the first party games provide amazing co op. Smash bros is legit amazing and so is mariokart and those are a must have in your switch game collection.

Honestly just look through this thread: https://nintenpedia.com/forum/threads/nintendo-switch-share-the-fun-sale.39296/ there's a ton of co-op games on sale in NA atm.

Some co-op games I enjoy that aren't on sale would probably be Super Mario Odyssey, that's got a decent co-op feature.
The resident evil games, they're pretty good for co-op (resident evil 4 is my favourite).
Escapists 2, pretty fun lil prison escape game.
Nine Parchments I've heard good things about, seems like a fun little RPG game.
The world ends with you also has a neat co-op system, tied around the first player though, but the second player can help with attacks and such.
Crypt of the NecroDancer has a fun co-op to it, also just a really fun and cool game in general.

As great of a game that mario+rabbids is, it's not the best for Co-op. Co-op in that game is only in a side section that unlocks after you beat world 1.5 and after that, for each world you beat in the main campaign you unlock a mini campaign in co-op mode. It's not the worst co-op, but don't go into the game thinking the whole game can be played co-op. Though I guess you could make your own version by "controlling" specific characters on the team during battles or work together to stratagise. It is a very fun game regardless though imo.

Moving Out might be a fun one for couch co-op. You work together to move furniture out of different houses, breaking things and being frantic in the process. Has some cool customization for the characters you play with too (dog, toaster, mecha).

I wrote a review for it here: https://nintenpedia.com/moving-out-review/

Honestly, there are a ton of couch Co-op games for the Switch. Obvious ones that you'll get recommended to the most are Overcooked 2, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Snipperclips Plus, Cuphead, and Super Mario Party. Soon, Untitled Goose Game will feature Co-op, so be on the look out for that too. There are also some less popular games that you should try out! Like indie games and such. Most of these are on sale for the appropriately named "Share the Fun Sale." I made a thread about it that you should check out, which is also pointed out by @Sky.

Out of the ones on sale right now, I would recommend the following:

Luigi's Mansion 3 - Which you should definitely get! Playing as Luigi and Gooigi is so much fun!

Cuphead - Although the price isn't the lowest price ever, it's still really fun! Defeating the tough bosses feels even more fun when you have someone else to share that joy with.

River City Girls - It's a great beat em up game that my friend is somewhat obsessed with.

Puyo Puyo Tetris - It's a great puzzle game that I'm somewhat obsessed with.

Go Vacation - Doing the activities are even more fun when you're doing them with someone.

Heave Ho - fun and intense game that is simple to understand and gave me a lot of laughs when playing.

WHAT THE GOLF? - Chaos. Chaos is always good. (Not in real life though! But it's just a game)

These are the games I would recommend. I haven't played everything on the list, so there may be some other great titles on sale rn, especially with the indie World sale going on alongside the Share the Fun sale. Maybe I'll make a post for that too.

Upcoming games on my bucket list and possibly yours:
Pikmin 3 DX
Rivals of Aether (like Smash)
Since the other ones I know were already mentioned. I'd recommend Lethal League Blaze but I haven't played it yet and note it's cheaper as digital.

Almost forgot. Rocket league has lots of positive reviews. Don’t buy it because it’s going to be free later this summer.

Woah thanks for all the suggestions guys! :D We'll definitely check all the games on this list out!
We're playing River City Girls now since he's a fan of Streets of Rage apparently...we'll see what other games are to his liking from here! And more suggestions are always welcome :)

Overcooked is really fun when playing with someone! I played it at my cousins house and it's a load of fun and chaos.
To summarize what its about, you have to create food in a kitchen, but the kitchen may constantly move around, or have stage obstacles which makes it difficult for all players to try and cooperate to prep all the food.

I've played a couple of Overcooked levels as well at a friend's house and it was a blast!
Wondering which would you recommend getting now though, Overcooked 1 or Overcooked 2? :eyes:

Sorry I just saw this, I only played Overcooked 2 but I would probably recommend getting it because the newer versions generally have more content and are improved upon
