Yeah, they'd probably only add it when they're running out of ideas of where to innovate and the series has evolved a lot

Yeah, that's when I think it will be added then, to just save up space when running out of ideas.

although the time they run out of ideas is a long ways away. Gen VI proved that if anything, they've still got lots of ideas for the franchise

True, a lot of ideas and new features can be inserted into the future generations of Pokemon so I guess we will have to wait and see.

Yeah, definitely. But hey, maybe they could implement voice commands in other parts of the game to test it out. They don't necessarily have to go all out with the moves like I suggested. That way they could see how it works and figure out if they can expand on that (kinda like what Microsoft did with Kinect if you get what I mean)

No, I don't like the idea of naming moves. I think naming your own moves will confuse people, since they won't really know what move you're doing.

It might be a bit of cheat online though, as the person you're battling won't have any idea what move you're using, at least if they're not "versed" in pokemon.

It will be fun though and confusing but you need the attribute called the ART OF SURPRISE !!! To fool your opponents !!! FATALITY !!!

Mind officially blown. (If you don't know the move then you could go to "Pokemon" and read the description of the move one the Pokemon you're using.)

lol i love the idea even though its unlikely that the pokemon company will even do it because it puts many at a disadvantage but i like it still :p greninja ! Kage Bunshin no Jutsu ! (double team :p )

I think the idea is nice, especially if someone want to rename their moves to something more recognizable. For example, you could rename Fire Blast to "Special Attack" since it is a special move. Or you could just rename it to "fire".

It would work out, too confusing, too much help for hackers. If that wasn't true your idea would probably be insanely awesome. I wouldn't mind a bit of confusion and nicknaming moves sound like a lot of fun. But i suppose that we'll have to accept it only work in our heads (I still make up my own movenames anyway :p)

Hmm this is actually very interesting :p But then I guess that people can confuse their Pokemon moves but maybe something like a description of what it is might help it :p I personally would love this kind of concept but I think that the consequences of it might be too risky :p

It would be kinda cool in some situation like the one you mentioned. Kinda like nicknames, but yea it would be confusing if you weren't used to it. In online battle i guess you could say it would make it more interesting. The opponent wouldn't know what move it was until the animation played, but overall it is not all that cool i guess, but neat idea.

Woah!!!! That would be literally the best but it would be hard to program and also very confusing and hard to know the move, etc. :p Great idea though, maybe Gen 8 because I don't knwo if Pokemon will get the idea or will be able to program it soon enoguh because they are already working hard at Gen 8, the new Pokemon game :)

Nicknaming moves? Game Freak's going to have their hands full if they do that. Seriously, how will they do that? I'm sure it's going to be almost impossible.

I really can't see that happening though... ._. For newer players especially, once they've nicknamed the move it would be confusing what move it was. I'd probably also get confused by it to be honest. :p Although I would like to see it one day, even if only for in-game and Friend battles, (thinking about it, nicknamed moves online could be blocked) since it would be fun!

Why not just have the move's custom name on top and the real move name in parenthesis below. And when the move is used, format it like this: [Pokemon name] used [custom move name] (actual move name).

Ryu used Hadoken (Aura Sphere)!
