Is it easy to play Mario Kart on wii or handheld?

Mario Kart Wii's controls are a little weird at first (especially while using the Wii wheel), but there is much more variety to the MKWii controls, since there are two different settings: Manual and Automatic. The only real difference between the two settings is the added ability to drift via the Manual setting. Mario Kart Wii was essentially the experiment to finding comfortable controls for everyone.

MKDS and MK7's controls are pretty much the same, but different mechanics. Not sure if the Wii U could be considered a sort of handheld (obviously because of the off-screen option with the game pad :p), but the normal MK8 controls are no different. I personally find handheld controls to be easier, since I am able to see what buttons I'm pressing from my periphery.

Considering the first time I played Mario kart was on the wii, I say the wii is easier. That and the fact that I was never great at racing simulators when using just the analog stick. I personally found it easier with the motion involved.

I usually find handhelds better in my opinion. For one thing, you have less buttons to work with and your hands can easily grasp the handheld and press any button with ease. Mario Kart Wii felt weird, even though I was using the Nunchucks (I can't play with the motion controls) Sometimes I confuse the buttons when playing since I think this button does this specific thing like drift or use an item.

I find it easy to play it on both, although I will say that I like playing the Wii version with my Gamecube controller more because it made it so much easier. The Wii Wheel makes it fun but the button placement wasn't that fun for me. For handheld, I don't like the DS version honestly because it seemed weird for me. I played the Wii version first and it felt perfect. Playing 7 was like playing the Wii version and the button placement was comfortable for me. I played 8 once and it was alright. So Mario Kart 7 is the perfect MK for me. Comfortable controls with a MK Wii feel handheld.

For me, MKW and 3ds is actually easy. For the wheel its disasterous but since I have the gamecube controller, I just use that. I used to use the nunchuck alot until I got a gamecube controller. The gamecube and ds controls are so alike.

I think playing the handheld version is easier and better because tilt controls is kinda a problem for me.

The 3ds has the same thing if you press the up button on the D-Pad during a race. Its the gyro sensor option in the settings.

I feel like the console version is easier to control. The problem with the ds is that you have to use a d-pad which make hard for driving and the circle pad is too slippery. The console ones are easier for me since the control isn't as loose, and they allow for more precise turning than the circle pad and d-pad
