Items are fun, but I personally don't utilize them in many of my matches because this iteration of Smash items can be very, very cheap (wind gun, golden bug, ect.). No item matches are clean and fair, as well as force you to truly focus on your adversary. I will say, though, itemless matches always eventually become mundane, so it's good to spice things up every once in a while.
