We often see the characters in Pokemon eating meat.....BUT WHERE DOES THE MEAT COME FROM?!?!?!??!:nailbiting:

The meat most likely is Pokemon meat. As we can see in the kanto episodes in which Ash is stranded aboard the SS anne James and Ash begin to think about succlent Magikarp meat. Since they'd ever think of eating magikarp meat of course e meat they eat would come from Pokemon. However, this could easily he disputed as it is shown there are real life things (sunflowers and the like) in pokemon.

Their all vegetarian DUH! They are all QUORN meat

Pretty sure the lobster in my picture up there isn't vegetarian XD

Well. It might be PokeMeat. It helps to think that Pokemon are just mindless animals that only follow orders and replicate human emotion.

I think it's Pokémon, seeing how Pokémon are their animals they most likely eat them...like...like this horrible picture :cry::cry:

(That poor Magikarp:cry:)

It makes me wonder is the whole world of pokemon are vegetarians or do they eat pokemon in secret.:(:(:cry::cry::cry::cry:

I saw this episode! I can't blame theme, Pokemon probably taste delicious. But we also have to remember, in the first season, actual animals were canon, there were worms and fish, ect. But I heard that Pokemon are a delicacy, and even though most don't taste good, some are still edible. Now, should I start a black market for Slowpoke Tails? xD

Well I mean... humans take care of specific animals that they really like and don't care about the majority of other animals in the same way and just eat them. Pokémon are just non-human pokés in that world so it would translate really well, I'd imagine.
There'd probably be double standards, too; like someone with a Taurus would be expected to just accept that their companion is commonly eaten, while someone with a Furfrou or eeveelution or something would be joined by a bunch of people in 'outrage' if they heard of a member of their companion being eaten.
I don't remember much about the first seasons where non-poké animals were around... but I can't imagine it would be that weird or terrible compared to this world.

maybe they´re made out of tofu and they shape them like that so that they can feel like they are eating animals or pokemon or whatever they think they´re eating. the real question is: why did they stop showing those kinds of scenarios in later seasons of the show. after misty, you never get to see that type of food ever again, or at least that´s what i recall. please correct me if i´m wrong though.

You're right now in the anime they are seen eating salads, veggie sandwiches, soups, or berries. I mean only time I really seen meat pop back up is in Destiny Deoxys when they were snatching up hot dogs and burgers to eat.

i knew i was right, maybe they just do that in order to avoid this dilema we´re questioning ourselves with.

Omg omg this is kind of scary. I bet the Pokemon that he doesn't use anymore he ask the Pokemon center lady to shock then he cooks it. I'm so scared mow to think about this. Waits odors that mean that some of the Pokemon are canibals because they eat other Pokemon. Uhhh this is so creepy and scary to think of this.

Hm... well, some of Basculin's PokéDex entries point out that its meat is rather tasty, so the idea of humans eating Pokémon meat really isn very Farfetch'd...

Red- and blue-striped Basculin are very violent and always fighting. They are also remarkably tasty.

Well it could be Pokemon. As it is it's known that fish Pokemon are at least eaten and Slowpoke tails albeit illegal in certain regions is a delicacy, and Ash gets the idea that Professor Oak would eat his Krabby while Oak himself says Gary's would make a more plentiful meal anyway.

Even so there has been evidence that real life animals exist in the Pokemon world like here, here and here, and that's just the anime alone; Raichu's and Ghastly's FR entries mention indian elephants and many Pokemon being compared to real life animals like Pikachu being a Mouse Pokemon. Even that lobster in the picture up there doesn't seem to immediately look like any known Pokemon we've seen before. (Except perhaps Clauncher but that's unlikely.)

So while it seems Pokemon being eaten isn't unusual, they also have animals to fill the food gap somewhere along the line. Also, some food products seen in the show could actually be veggie alternatives like the burgers and hot dogs examples above.

Well, If we were to bring this in reality perspective They would be eating magikarps or krabby's but We alos do so we eat Chicken, Pork. Beef. Fish etc but you don't see them gasping about it :p And what would they eat besides berries. EVERYONE NEEDS MEAT

Well tbf most of the "vegetables" and "fruits" are either grass types or Pokemon berries...
Still tho it's sad :c
And why is Pikachu eating it?

This discussion also brings me to the thought of what happens to all the rejected Pokemon Eggs from Daycare? The Daycare couple can't possibly raise all the Eggs themselves...

Also, in some PokeDex entries Pokemon can eat each other as well. So it would only seem natural that Pokemon taking the place of animals for the most part that humans would eat Pokemon meat or Pokemon plant matter as part of the "natural" Pokemon world. After all it's only make believe in a fictional world.
