Yes, but Fairy types still deals *2 too to Dark types. But, no, I don't think there's any Dark/Fairy type.

Yes, Fairy types deal that amount of damage, but as we touched on earlier, Latias isn't as offensively powerful as Latios. Latios has a greater Special Attack stat and now has access to Adaptability, which makes him a huge threat (possibly worse than Mewtwo Y)

Definitely I would choose. Latias since it's a fairy dragon type and dragon types won't have any effect on fairy and it can kill dragon types easily so it would be one of the op pokemon when it gets released.

Even if it's Dragon/Fairy, it wouldn't be able to stand a Psyshock from Adaptability Mega Latios. After all, Latias is Specially defensive, not physically defensive. Maybe multiscale could try to sponge it, but with all the boosts Latios would have it may prove difficult.

Latias sounds much better now, Multiscale is one awesome ability and combined with Dragon/Fairy typing it's going to be one great Pokemon. Latios looks great too, I've always chosen Latios previously.

While Latias has improved, I think all it's going to do is make her more used in OU than she was before. I mean, there were claims that she was going to go UU before this news was discovered

idk I find it funny how here there's so much love for Latias when elsewhere you'd see a lot more love for Latios. Honestly, since Latias lost it's Psychic typing for Fairy and the fact is that it's not that good Defensively, it's not going to be able to withstand a Psyshock from Latios.

uh.....don't get stuck in that fantasy land. Anime isn't canon. We're talking about competitive battling and how this stuff affects the metagame. This Latios and that Latios could be entirely different individuals of Latios.

Didn't necessarily wind me up, but just confused me that there was actually someone who used anime to support their reasoning to go a certain lol I saw that on a Sonic thread and sometimes it just surprises me that people do that.

I'd just like to update on this thread that it may be that only the MEGA form of Latias is Dragon/Fairy, and not regular Latias. I'm not completely sure but I think that may have been the case

You need a mega stone to mega evolve it, and the Latiasite item (I think that's what it's called) hasn't been released yet. A hacker came across it and leaked images so yeah. It's all over the internet that Multiscale is the mega ability and that the mega form is Dragon/Fairy

I am not sure if I will get Latios or Latias... They both seem like really good Pokemon to me. How do you get them though? Is it through some sort of event or do I have to look at the original post? PS: Put a link to the original post. (lol)

Hmm... There's multiple ways to get them... Event (if there's one for X/Y), or Import from HG/SS, I know these games contains Lati@s, but you'll have to chase them :facepalm: (yet another pokemon to chase, thanks Nintendo....)
What would be good would be a glitch or something to have more than one mega-evolution in battle, because it will be hard to choose between Mega Latias/Latios in a battle, with all the advantages mentioned before.

I think Latias's dual typing will make it a really unique Pokemon. With both Dragon and Fairy typing, Latias is now a great Dragon killer and will be a threat to many of the powerful dragons out there. It does have some new weaknesses, but I feel that those can be checked with STAB moves. A counter to Mega Latias would be Metagross, but if Latias can learn and use Overheat, then it should be fine.

I would choose Latias because it could destroy latios now that it would become Dragon-Fairy type. That would be practically unbeatable when it is battling another Dragon type.

only complaint I really have is that they are both better looking when not in mega form.

but yeah latias is cool especially with a type change
