Also, if you think it's safer, I think you could ask a moderator (@OopaMazo, @Moon Rain, @D4rkDragon, @Icemario) or an admin (@Marc, @Mikaya, @Spinnerweb) to help you trade. Maybe (example) the admins could check the codes from both parts without activating them, and if they're legal codes, then trade ?

@ultimategaurdian's Nookling Junction and private messaging privileges have been revoked.

I recommend using a staff member with a NA 3DS as a middle man to check that both codes are legit before trading.

@HaveLoveForThePig12 open a new thread if you still want to do a trade, but put your 3DS friend code and Nintendo Network ID details in your profile so we have an idea who you are and not some random person who tries to scam and run as well.
