The trailer only showed that Chrom was in the game but it is still unclear whether he's a playable character or not so think we just have to find out when we get the game or Sakurai reveals more of SSB4. lol

Pretty sure that its been confirmed that he isn't playable. He only appears in Robin's Final Smash.

I personally am disappointed, I don't play Fire Emblem so I have no idea who these people are :L

But lots of people seem happy about this, so I guess it's good ^^

I for one is tired of all this Lucina is an alt skin for Marth talk

Well at least that conversation should be dead. Just confirmed on Miiverse about Lucina is a separate character.

"Pic of the day. Along with Robin, Lucina joins the battle!! Her physical ablilites are identical to Marth's--it must be in her D.N.A. However, where Marth's power is concentrated in the tip of the sword, Lucina's attack strength is balanced throughout the weapon, which might make her easier to control. She's also a little bit shorter than Marth."

With the Wii Fit Trainers, the male and female Robins, the Villagers, and Little Mac, varying their appearances and voices works just like selecting alternate color variations. However, whenever there is even a small difference in abilities, that character gets an actual roster slot. That is why you can select Lucina individually.

By the way…there's probably no chance you'll be able to see this in the game, but Lucina has the mark of Naga in her left eye."

So definitely not an alt skin. I do hope she ends up being different enough from Marth though to make her gameplay distinctive though, but I guess we shall see. Still excited to see it though, Lucina was one of my favorite characters from Awakening. :D

The thing is, Lucina looks like she plays TOO much of Marth, and I'm worried she won't have a difference from Marth.
I'm going with you Roy, you might be a clone, but while you are slower, you're stronger.
Let's hope they don't add Pichu.

Noooo! Life Orb Pichu come back! I knew she would play stupidly similar. Perhaps pros will try to master Marth which Lucina is for those who don't care about attack spacing. I hope this helps Sakurai with the balancing of characters without trying too hard and it gives the players more choices of characters.

I'm happy for Robin and Lucina. Finally we get more than 2 Fire Emblem characters and we get another girl character. I will be expecting more females in smash.

Lucina's final smash is Critical Hit! (Whole Smash community starts having large-scale spasms)

Wow! I can finally die happy now. I really, really, REALLY wanted a character, solely based on Magic (spells etc.), I knew Micaiah/Robin could've had a chance in Super Smash, because they fit in perfectly.

Now.... Lucina, sorry but I don't see the purpose of she being in here, I know the're trying to implement more female characters into Smash but I think Lucina was unnecessary, I don't see the purpose of having THREE sword users from the SAME franchise on this roster.

I'm elated that Captain Falco is back, I think a lot of fans wanted him in this iteration of Smash, so overall I'm happy with his announcement.

Well, same here, happy that we got two FE characters in SSB4, and that Captain Falcon is back, but also, don't forget, Robin also has a sword, though it can be used a limited number of times, after, it'll break, and he'll use another, less powerful sword (don't worry, the original sword will be regenerated some time later).

But yes, I don't know why Lucina is here, maybe to add a female character to the roster. But as @AdvanceStrat said, she'll have some exclusive moves, so, we can't say that she is a total clone of Marth too.

In any case, the character list is expanding with even more greater characters, I can't wait for the game!

Yeah, overall Robin's moveset is amazing so far, because there's so much "magic" that can be implemented from his franchise.

I think that's really why Lucina is there. I feel like having three characters, solely based on swords is kind of pointless (IMO), I know she'll have some exclusive moves but I dunno, I don't see the point of her in the roster other than being a "female swords-woman" representative.

I'm actually quite pleased with how this entire roster is shaping up, and I know Mr. Sakurai is going to have more surprises for us.

I really like those new characters, i wanted a female player with the sword style, Lucina is really unique and its my favorite character right now, Robin is cool but his spells attacks does not attract me.

Ugh. Why Lucina :/! Was hoping for Lyn from Fire emblem 7 to be playable. A sword master lord would be actually cool tbh. She can use bows to and her critical animation is cool. Final smash would be her using the sol katti animation in it.

I'm liking Lucina better because she's more of a physical attacker. Robin looks interesting with his spell tomes, but I don't know if that style of gameplay will be as fun (especially if the spells are designed as support tools rather than offensive weapons).
