Do you think Magikarp is really the weakest Pokemon out there?
Most people say it stinks...
Some say it is boss...

What do you think?

? Magikarp is horrible and isn't funny when I say its horrible.

Magikarp @ Choice Scarf
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Tackle
- Flail
- Bounce

This is the only moveset and is still horrible.

Even Smogon says so: There is no excuse for using Magikarp, at all. All comedy value in using it disappeared by about 1998, and anyone who finds it funny deserves to be fed Rare Candy until they get diarrhea.

Well , I'd have to agree that Majikarp is certainly the most weakest Pokemon that I can ever think of really :p all other Pokemon have something that they have for the better . I'd never say that Majikarp would be used even much in competitive play because it is still weak regardless :p

Well you see the thing about karp is...

Magikarp @Focus Sash
EVs: 4HP, 252Spe, 252 Atk
Ability: Swift Swim
Moveset:
Flail
Bounce
Hydro Pump
Splash (for the lols)

Basically, you start off with a Ninjask that has Speed boost, have it use Substitute, let the Speed boosts add up, use Baton Pass to someone that can use Rain Dance, have that Pokemon switch to karp, let karp endure the first hit (it'll be left with 1hp) and just flail through the fight. It's a disturbing yet actually amazing setup, idk if Smogon allows tho >.<

Well, the only reason Magikarp isn't the worst is because it evolves into Gyarados. I think Unown is the worst, since it only knows hidden power, which EVERYTHING can learn, and it has the 4th lowest base stat total at 336, and the whole "letters" concept is just a gimmick for completionists everywhere to be tortured by.

Hrmm this is hard but I don't really hate Magikarp, sure it's weak and none of its attack work and it takes forever to get to its last form, but you know what's funny everyone is after the shiny Magikarp when it's still a Magikarp :giggle:

And to be honest I have three boxes full of Magikarp:panda:

Magikarp is the weakest pokemon but has great potential. Magikarps evolution garydo is a preety gr3at pokemon.
If magikarp isnt the weekest then I'd say either feebass or sunkern would be weekest. Feebass for being similar to magikarp and sunkern for wackest stats

Magikarp at least evolves into Gyarados, which is a pretty solid mon, a Pokemon like Luvdisc on the other hand...doesn't evolve whatsoever and is only worth catching for Heart Scales.

you think magikarp is horrible?

Well actually, Magikarp isn't the weakest Pokemon, because it has the potential to kill someone. Yes, it can kill someone.

Want to know how? Well, I'm kind of stealing this explanation off of some Youtube video here, but Magikarp weighs 22 pounds, roughly 10kg. Now that's actually quite heavy if you think about it; not horribly heavy, but you wouldn't want to be carrying it on your shoulder throughout your adventure (it's quite big too, at 90cm, but that doesn't hugely matter at this point).

Now, in it's Platinum and BW Pokedex entries, it is stated that 'A Magikarp living for many years can leap a mountain using Splash.' Although this contradicts a few other entries that claim it can jump 7ft (still pretty high at 2m). Now, considering how tall mountains are, and estimating that most mountains are higher than 3000m above sea level, imagine a Magikarp jumping that high. Now imagine that 10kg weight falling from that height. (I would calculate the force but I don't want to get too scientific here)

Now, if that Magikarp was to fall on the ground from that height, it would certainly dent it considerably. It would die too. HOWEVER, imagine if that Magikarp was to fall on a person. It would most likely kill them. That sort of unbelievable force on someone's head would be fatal. The Magikarp would also die but, that goes to prove, that Magikarp isn't weak. Even though it dies in the process, it can take someone out along with it. There are other Pokemon that could probably take that thanks to their immense mass and weight, or because they are Ghosts, but any ordinary human couldn't.

That goes to show, Magikarp aren't that weak \:D/

Well, chances are that Magikarp would be at terminal velocity by the time it hit you, so just calculate that.

Well Combee is pretty bad too. It has a 4x weakness and more weaknesses that Magikarp. And they have less moves too. Gust, Sweet Scent, and maybe Bug Bite?

Magikarp is not the worst pokemon. It can sweep entire teams of you use baton pass ninjask. The worst pokemon undoubtedly goes to the grass pokemon sunkern. If I recall correctly it has the lowest base stats of all pokemon and cannot learn flail so you can't use it to sweep teams ALA pimpite. It's awfully sad to be worse than magikarp, but at least magikarp has a use out there.

I think Magikarp should get a mega evolution, and during that mega evolution, he learns an extra move that replaces splash... just an idea. or maybe they should give splash a use... maybe if used after rain from rain dance ends, something awesome happened? But I think feebas is about as terrible as magicarp. but to be fair, their evolutions are both pretty awesome! and as dragovian said sunkern is worse... and it's magikarp's speed is okay. I guess. Though sunkern has all 30's and magikarp has some lower than that, It's stat total is 200, where as sunkern's is only 180.
feebas is also the same base stat total as magikarp, meaning sunkern has the lowest base stats of all pokemon so far. (they will probably make a pokemon with lower base stats at somepoint. for the sake of it.

Pokemon Y pokedex entry for magikarp - "In the distant past, it was somewhat stronger than the horribly weak descendants that exist today." This is one reason I think they should make a mega evolution for magikarp. and give it a base stat total of hmm... maybe... 400? or make magikarp fossil, and call make the magikarp that comes out a better magikarp then the regular one.

one does not simply survive a burn at 1 hp.
