I was thinking, should I buy Mario Kart 8? I usually rent it when a lot of my friends come over, but I never really felt the urge to buy it. I beat the game in a day with my friends, so it doesn't seem to have a lot of content. I would definitely buy it if online was fun, but none of my friends own a wii u and playing with random people can get irritating. So I guess what I'm trying to ask is "should I buy mario kart 8 even though I dislike online?"

If you dislike online and already beaten it then I wouldn't seem why you should buy it . I would buy it because I love online play no matter who and the game is very addictive . In your case I would say naw just rent it when you need to . But for me I would totally buy because Mario Kart is very addicting and fun with online too

@Jacknoir12 I agree with you. Renting the game should suffice if I dislike online. Thanks!

Wait...renting games? I never heard of that before! As far as I know you have to buy a game or loan it from a friend if you want to play it. Where can you rent games? (Though this sounds a lot like something that only works in the USA)

@PersonSP Ya most of the renting stores are shutdown because of people not returning the products, but a few still remain. And there's the famous GameFly, but I don't use that service.

Interesting. It's kind of nasty that people won't return the stuff the loan.

Yeah even through I don't use gamefly I pretty sure gamefly will shut down in a few years because some people won't return the stuff which is really sad:(

To be fair, quite a few times things don't get returned because it gets lost. I speak from experience .-.

Yes but that still makes them lose a game. they probably have insurance but I doubt it will cover more than 60% of the replacement costs.

You better get it. It is really fun and the fun really never ends. It is really unique and the tracks are really creative and long. 1 day will not get you far. Also there is no such thing as beating mario kart. You can go online and race 12 people, which is crazily fun.

I don't know if it's just me, but when I'm renting a game, I feel like I have a limited time to play it so I should play more than usual. If I buy a game, it's like I can play it whenever. As for Mario Kart, I'd say buy it, because that game isn't worth the rent. It's a fun game that a lot of people can enjoy. It's not like one of those games that you play through the story and you finish. There's a lot to unlock and lot of fun to be had :3

Well, we have DLC, that adds a good 16 tracks, you get 6-7 new characters, new skins for Yoshi and Shy Guy, oh and Kart parts too. On top of that, we also have the newest difficulty, 200cc, which is free btw. Playing online with people is lots of fun, I dont see what the problem is.

Buy because it has the best graphics by far, the dlc, and the new 200 cc update that supposed to come out this Thursday.

Yes I think that you should buy it. There is many tracks to race on and there is also many characters to play as too. Also there is awesome dlc to buy. But before you play online you should get more kart customizations before you race online so you can beat people easier.

Buy it. MK8 is replayable, meaning it's one of those games you can't bored with!

mk8 is worth buying as long as u have lots of friends to play with. its not a kind of game that you get board of very fast

it's amazing! i just got and am still playing it. the dlc looks great(i don't have the money for it). amiibo can be used. and no late fees.

i would own it because u dont have to wory about returning the game (its yours) and if u got dlc on ur copy u can keep it

I would buy it, because renting you'd have to pay late fees and you may get the urge to play one day but with renting the game you won't get be able to.

Not to mention if you want with the bought version you could later sell it too :p
