I know things like this have been done before but I want to know which gen is most disappointing. For me gen 5 or gen 2 cause gen 5 is just plain rubbish and gen 2 don't have 2 types each. I would've said 6 but froakie evolving into greninja saves it! Please vote and explain in the comments!
Sorry for the typo in torchic my autocorrect was acting up.

For me it's got to be Gen 2 - Sure Gen 5 was pretty bad but Serperior's (unreleased) HA is Contrary, which pairs well with leaf storm. Gen 2 just didn't have any good pokes, simple as that.

Gen 5 because sure it was a little creative but a narwhal that walks on four legs doesn't cut it for me (although Samurott did have some neat physical attacks like Megahorn it's stats don't match up with anything it is good for and is outclassed now by Greninja as far as usefulness unless you have a super SD AJ Samurott I'll pass). Serperior was neat but for the weaknesses it has and it's average defenses it's only good for using moves with speed and it's HA isn't really officially released. And the average Fire/Fighting starter is bad because it is the slowest one in all the Generations and it has many weaknesses. I think Gen 2 was one of my favorites of them all for the simplicity of monotypes and their awesome stats which means the Pokemon you choose affects how you fight with that Pokemon. Choosing Chikorita as my HG starter I loved raising my defenses and tanking hits while using status to pester foes (although I was going offensive a little bit so I could beat Pryce with Meganium). Cyndaquil is for those who love destroying things and being really fast. If you want to defeat a Pokemon quickly then Typhlosion is it (however imo it ruins the fun of the battles). And for all around great physical offense and bulk you can choose Totodile because you like a balance and you know when to switch out whenever an Electric type is going to hit (because of a lower Special D). And they sort of did this with with Sinnoh and it was already done in Kanto so Gens 3, 5, and 6 all went to the untraditional expectations with faster Grass types, mixed attacker Water types, and bulky over fast Fire types. All of them are great in their own respect but Gen 2 would be my favorite.

I also found generation 2 disappointing with it's starters. It's not really the design at all, because I do like those designs, it's because of the single type that I found disappointing. I'm just not really interested in single type starters. Although the starters were pretty strong.

In my opinion, based on looks, Generation 5 was a Mega Disappointment, because i do not really appreciate grass snakes, or flaming pigs. As Artisan said, a narwhal that walks on 4 legs is also not that impressive.

Pikachu, not for itself, but the Pokémon your rival gets. Eevee? Really? Was that the best they could come up with?

gen 5 to me just blows i wanted to transfer over different starter right when i saw them

Gen 5 for me. They could've been more creative when creating the starters for this gen. A flame/fire pig? really? :p

wasn't really a fan of Snivy/Oshawott either.

Japan must've been hungry for barbecue ribs when they were making Gen 5. And Grumpig wasn't tasty enough for their standards. (NEW spin-off title called Pokemon cooking with Siebold.)

it not just the form they took though. they nearly repeated the fire/fighting water/steel/match up the only difference was seperior grass/ dragon.

Gen 5 because it has really bad Pokemon and It was also just my least favorite generation. I thought it juts wasn't creative enough and didn't make the cut as other people said.

Battle wise both 5 and 2 absolutely sucked, but I think 5 was worse because of their horrible design, 2 at least had pretty good looks. Probably the only thing of black I didn't like

Generation 5 starters really sucked balls. I mean they didn't even make any sense at all. My favorite was/is/will be 1st gen.

Gen 5 is fine! Gen 4 was annoying, they had 2 types, and super effective attacks did normal damage on them! i mean, normally, a final evolved grass could knock out a fully evolved water, but since empoleon was water steel, it really messed up the order of things

I quite liked the whole dual typing in Gen 4. It made a nice change.

I chose "Gen 5 (snivy, tepig, oshawott)".
Reason being: I watched the anime series, and Snivy was just like Treeko, there was no creativity placed in there at all, it even had the same attitude (I know different Pokemon has different attitude, but I'm just trying to say, that it was too "alike") Oshawott reminded me of Piplup (same attitude). I love Tepig, it was soo cute and jolly, I think that was the most creative starter Pokemon of that generation.

I feel like the rest of starter Pokemon in the other generation, brought something different to the anime, while Generation 5 just copied attributes from the last four generation starter Pokemon. :bag:

Gen 2 and gen 5 for me. Their stats were kinda crappy regardless of which one you picked but Cynaquil and Oshawatt (for me) was usually the best choice out of them.

Didn't really like any of gen 5's evolutions but that's a moot point because I only like the 2nd evolution designs for all starter pokemon. Pignite is my least favorite because of that typing (fire/fighting). It's like they saw Blaziken's success and then ran with it forever. Infernape was cool because I could at least name it Sun Wukong/Son Goku but Pignite...

Meh.

From those poll made..I see lot of people not like the gen 5 starter the most.. All I dont like about the stater only snivy just cause it ia only a very different pokemon form than the rest.. How about gen 6 .. I dont like the most was in gen 6 .. What happen to the starter .. Although this staryer is quiet better in its basic evolution however after evolve its so s*ck..chespin is like a digimon after its highest evolve and delphox is like a witch.. Although froakie's evolution is better than the rest.. :D ..cause this is the one that I chose ..

I think all the starters are unique and special in their own way, along with every Pokemon. Every pokemon is good for something and all of their designs are unique and different. I love all Pokemon and I love all starters.

For me, the gen 5 starters lacked imagination especially Snivy's gradual deevolution from gecko(?) into a snake
