Gen 5 starters just suck.

I would have to say that Gen 5 is my least favorite due to design for the starters. But gen 5 did have some great pokes come out of it.

Unova.
Don't get me wrong, I love Unova in general. And I love Snivy and Oshawott. But when I look at every other gen:
Kanto; Charmander, Bulbasaur, Squirtle.
Johto; Cyndaquil, Totodile, Chickorita.
Hoenn; Torchic, Treeko, Mudkip.
Sinnoh; Chimchar, Turtwig, Piplup.
Kalos; Froakie, Chespin, Fennekin.
I seem to find all three starters incredibly appealing. And although Tepig isn't half bad either, I just don't like it's evolution line.
Kind of disappointing since it was the third Fire/Fighting starter in a row too.

Gen 5,o come on that starter generation was pretty lame, from water to water to water (oshawott-but he does look kinda nice)got to give him that and then to grass to grass to grass(snivy) and the stats were lame too, worst starter generation that has ever been made.

Gen 5 by far! First of all, I am a Water Type Starter and Gen 5's water type starter is one of the worst starters in Pokemon, I don't like Gen 1 and 2 either since I REALLY got into pokemon with my emerald version. (<censored> YEAH 3RD GEN REMAKES WOHOO). SO among the rest 4 generations, 5th is the worst generation for me cause well creativity=0. )Seriously... a <censored> ice cream for a pokemon) and cause of the disapointment in water starter, I mean cmon, 1st and 2nd evolutions are like kid drawings while the 3rd is close to almost being ok (<censored> that thing on its head, only cool thing is the beard going on, plus I hate that it walks on 4 legs). BUT the only starter than looks so different from its former evolutions. I would go with 6, cause seriously grass and fire, worst starters fro mall generations but Greninja pretty much covers that LOL, 2nd in my list, cause Swampert will always be my love <3.

If it was not for Snivy in generation 5, generation 5 would be the most disappointing for me. Snivy evolves into Serperior, which I never lost with the combination of Coil, Leech Seed, Leaf Storm, and Leaf Blade. I in general do not like the generation 3 starter pokemon in general, so they have to be the most disappointing for me. May I ask, why was Pikachu tagged on the end there? Was it because of the Anime?

Gen 2 I like to totodile it's just cyndaquel and that other grass one. What even are they. No one even uses the grass one because it sucks. But I was quite disappointed. For gen 5 I think they were cool. Who doesn't love a walking narwhal???

Gen 5 for sure. I now realised why it takes me so long to select a starter in Gen 5. It's because I dont want any of these pokemon. I just caught a Riolu and replaces my snivy.

Gen 2 wasn't bad for it's time. Cyndaquil/Totodile was cuties, and Thyphlosion/Meganium was beasts. Their designs wasn't bad either. The designs for gen 5 was really bad though. Have no idea what those guys were thinking when they made those pokemon.

Gen 5 was pretty boring, the only one that I liked out of the three was oshawott and that was because I found him cute and otters are my favorite animals. But having another fire fighting was boring. They could have also given second types to Samourott and Superiour

Sorry if i spelt the names wrong its just i can easily forget names

I would say gen 2 starters because the starters design don't really look creative and when they evolve they don't get an additional type

And I'm waiting

I personally liked Snivy and his snobbish appearance. I can't think of any of the generations starters that I absolutely didn't like. Nor can I think of a single pokemon I don't like at all. I think most of the starters are really well balanced, I never seem to have a problem coordinating my team around them.

Gen 5 starters weren't that great or to appealing to me except oshawott but the evolutions didn't seem that amusing

Gen 5 because to be honest I was expecting more that time and even though the designs look good when they evolve it didnt give me a happy tingle and lets admit it Emboar is kind of weak

Even though Serperior is one of my favorite Pokemon, I'm going to have to go with the Gen 5 starters. They just weren't that powerful or didn't have great movepools to work with. Here's hoping they get better when they get Mega Evolutions in the future.

For me, Gen 5 had the most disappointing starters. I'm not a big fan of narwhal samurais, grass serpents, or flaming pigs. What happened to Nintendo's ideas. Emboar is basically Grumpig on fire.
