I actually started playing Pokemon when Yellow came out for the GBC. I then bought Red & Blue afterwards (I know, backwards). Unfortunately, I got married and had kids so I stopped playing since then. But I started playing the TCG with my kids this past year. My kids got so interested in it that they started playing the video games, starting with the latest, Omega Ruby (remake of Ruby). I helped one of them with it when they got hooked I then got hooked as well so I just purchased Alpha Sapphire. But now I want to go back and play the rest.... LOL!!!

I was at my friend's house watching Nintendo Direct with her, and when they announced that Gen 1 games were going to be released on the eshop, I screamed like an idiot. So yes I am very excited. xD

I've never actually played a Gen 1 pokemon game so this will be a different experience for me. I'm thinking about getting pokemon Yellow first. I lost both my Heartgold and Soulsilver so I would like a game where a pokemon follows me. Even if it's limited to Pikachu.

As for Red and Blue, I'm still not sure which one. I'll worry about that after I get Yellow. :)

Never played Heartgold or Soulsilver (cheapest on ebay is still mid $30's) but I am interested in those more now that you say you have pokemon following you around. I thought it was cool when Pikachu did it in yellow.

Is the prices for the games announced yet?
Would also like to know the space needed I have 2 games downloaded already on my bro's 3DS and mine.
My brother's has like only1.5k blocks left, and mine has less than that

Personally i feel very conflicted about all of this. I feel like they took too long to do this and that at this point ive lost interest in revisiting the gen 1 games. who knows, maybe ill change my mind as the date draws closer and decide to hop on the massive hype train for the return of glitching to get mew and Missingno XD.

What would be really amazing with these Gen 1 games coming to 3Ds is if there was a way that you could transfer the Pokemon that you caught in those games. Maybe they will make an update with the Poketrasnporter to transport Pokemon obtained from those games. That would be amazing and I hope also they also include Gen 2 and Gen 3 in the future so I can play all the games because I started with Sapphire and I have no experience with Gen 1 and Gen 2 and they are really hard to get nowadays since they are practically collectors items. Can't wait!

I don't think they're so hard to get, just a bit expensive, but same price as it came out back then.
ebay and amazon have several of them

Actually, that will be no transfer system at all, since Gen 1 and 2 don't have an EV limit, while from the Gen 3 games and on have the 510 EVs one!

Woah! Pokemon Yellow is making a comeback? That's the most amazing Pokemon game for the GBC. I wish they'd make a remake though.

Actually, Pokemon Yellow was released on the GB, not GBC! Still, a remake would be really nice!

OK, Gameboy, but it still is one of the best Pokemon games ever for the 1st Generation.

I most likely won't get it since I don't like Pokemon that much to begin with and I also don't have enough room to download those games. However it is nice that they brought back the classics for old schools Pokemon players to play. Thanks Nintendo :D

one thing I really like about the VC releases is that the ability to wirelessly trade pokemon. I mean, it must've taken some kind of programing brainchild to make that work. My friends and I are super hyped. Can't wait untill Febuarry

I still have my original GameBoy Advanced with Red (I didn't play Red as a kid, I got it for my 18th birthday) so I wouldn't want to port Red or Blue, but I am kind of intrigued by Yellow! I'm a little afraid of getting a digital copy of it and running into a glitch though, and if that would do anything to my SDHC card or just be isolated to the game... glitch behaviour in the ported games would probably be my deciding factor in whether or not to get a port, tbh. Things like having mew is awesome but running into a Missingno or glitch Charizard or female symbol or something, and then other parts of my card being damaged would be no good :x

..I wouldn't get it for more than 10 dollars also.
