hey what do you guys think about princess Roselina being in Super Smash Bros 4 I am actually excited to see her move set and I saw her newcomer trailer and I saw she can manipulate opponents long range moves like say Mario had F.L.U.D.D. from super Mario sunshine and he attacked her with it she could manipulate it to go over her. IT WAS EPIC XD. sorry caps lock was on. any ways she can also summon a luma or whatever those star things from super Mario galaxy is called

I think that there are going to be a lot of Mushroom Kingdom characters in the game now, about 7. (Which isn't a bad thing) The only thing I fear is her being too OP. You couldn't even jump or butt-stomp her in Super Mario Galaxy lol.

I wouldn't fear her becoming OP because Sakurai is too legit to let that happen. Yes, there was the barrier thing in Super Mario Galaxy but they likely wouldn't include that in Smash Bros. 4.

As for it not being a bad thing, keep in mind that the game is meant to be representative of all of Nintendo's major characters, so I hope they don't add too many, if any, beyond Rosalina because that would detract focus from other franchises (and there are people asking for characters in other franchises like Magnus for Kid Icarus and Chrom for FE: Awakening, for example)

There is some truth to that, but since Super Mario is the most known franchise of Nintendo, it only makes sense to have the most characters of that franchise in the game. I do see where you come from though.

Yeah, I understand that it's the most known franchise, but the thing is they arguably already have Mario really overrepresented. I'm not saying Rosalina is a bad addition (her trailer looks EPIC), I just hope that this is a rare occurrence and not part of a huge trend

Over-represented is correct! There are probably over 200 games that feature Mario alone. Also, by rare occurrence you mean one time only? (Such as the characters Roy, Pichu, and Mewtwo from Melee)

By rare occurrence, I mean I hope this isn't part of a trend in which Mario characters make up a ridiculously huge part of the SSB4 roster. Also, I wasn't talking about the amount of Mario games, but rather the amount of Mario characters in the SSB4 roster. Yeah, some of those characters are one time only but at the same time you have to keep in mind that they were replaced by more current characters (Ike for Roy, Lucario for Mewtwo, for example).

Ah ok, I was terribly mistaken. I think it is becoming a trend, mainly because the number of Super Mario franchise characters is increasing as each ssb releases. Just a matter of speculation. Yet in the long run, it all comes down to the gameplay.

Oh man we sort of went off topic. xD

Nah, it's somewhat on topic because we're kinda talking about how the roster is like with her addition.

In any case, yeah, I think in terms of gameplay Rosalina will have a lot to offer. It's good that she isn't a Peach clone, or else that would have been really stupid

Yep, Kind of like Luigi AND Dr. Mario in Melee. They were basically Mario clones, Dr. Mario more so than Luigi. Luigi's sounds were the same as Mario's, but his move set was different.

Well, Luigi has been around since the original Smash Bros. so it's not really all that good of an example. But I do see where you're going with the Mario clone thing. Dr. Mario is a good example though and given that the Dr. Mario games kinda declined later it's no surprise that he wasn't included in future rosters.

Ok so if I had of said Luigi from the first smash bros., then it would have been a good example lol. Anyways, Dr. Mario was basically a spoof character in my opinion, he wasn't as good as Mario.

yeah, I agree and it's a good thing that they aren't really having clone characters in the new game. Allows for diverse gameplay experience for sure. If they had included Dr. Mario, it would have been kinda annoying given a lot of similarities in the moveset and all. Rosalina some would have expected to be a Peach clone, but she offers a really great moveset that's going to be abused for sure

According to a lot of people, Dr. Mario is the better fighter because he has stronger attacks and does more damage overall....only problem being a clone. They also say that he should've just been a costume for Mario and the buffs he had should've went to Mario.
