Do you think Shiny Pokemon are valuable? do you collect them?

They're really hard to get. I think I've only ever seen one. xD

Pretty lame. I haven't got time to search for them. xD

^ Same.

I have never even encountered one, and I've been playing Pokemon since the third grade.

Sad.

I know this might be a little off topic but I would like to give you guys a shiny each, I've been lucky enough to get my hands on some.

As for my question, I think since X &Y made shiny hunting so easy that shinies are not as valuable as they once were.

That is so nice of you! Unfortunately, I do not have a 3DS. The last Pokemon game I bought was SoulSilver, so it'd have to be a DS trade if that's possible for you. x3

They've definitely become less "valuable" since X and Y with the increased ratio of finding them, but I still think they're rare enough to warrant them a special place in my heart when I find one!

I've found:
- Staravia (Random Encounter)
- Basculin (Consecutive Fishing)
- Poliwhirl (Consecutive Fishing)
- Clauncher (Consecutive Fishing)
- Clauncher (Consecutive Fishing)
- Magikarp (Consecutive Fishing)
- Magikarp (Consecutive Fishing)
- Lickitung (Random Encounter)
- Sentret (Masuda Method Breeding)
- Pichu (Masuda Method Breeding)

:( I transferred my shinies to X&Y sorry.

No problem! I'll work on getting a 3DS soon enough. xD

I've only encountered a shiny two or three times before. One time it was when I was doing an all Eevee run on Crystal (I ran into a Shiny Rapidash outside Mt. Silver).

Unfortunately I've never encountered a shiny that I cared to use.

I think Shiny Pokemon are valuable only if people like their appearance. They really are just reskinned versions of normal Pokemon anyways, so there's no real point to them other than just being cool and rare. I've never caught a shiny by myself, and the only ones I've got are through trades.

I've only ever had two shinies- Diglett and Floatzel, but I've never really wanted any shinies, except maybe Zoroark. :) I just hink they take more effort than they're worth. Both of the shinies I've caught were by chance, so I've never caught one on purpose. I have tried, though, and I've been unsuccessful. Admittedly, I've only bred about four boxes using the Masuda method, so maybe I'll try a few more next time. :)

I don't collect them and they have lost a lot of value to me since there are cheating devices for X/Y to shinify Pokemon.

Shinies are just different Colour schemes for Pokemon not a big deal but they do give off the sparkles which makes me feel really annoyed at the start off every battle since it's very annoying to me. It keeps on sparkling until I get nauseous.

If I try I get plenty however when I don't try they won't show up. Sometimes they are unexpected and they are a nice treat for those who want to make a game out of it.

I do not get them, at least not intentionally. A few gens before, I got 4 legitimate shinies without using methods, but then that data was deleted and I was left poor with nothing :(

I have only encountered one wild shiny Pokemon and it was a litwick from a random encounter and I was really mad at the litwick when it killed itself with memento after escaping from an ultra ball.

Encountered like the bubonic plague. A whole set of shinies in White (namely Throh, Sawk, and Marill in Black 2) and a few others in X (Zorua, Quagsire)
TBH and IMO though, shinies are used much more by me when they actually have perfect IV's, and are EV trained just right, though you could ask anyone else on the competitive battling scene and they'd probably say the shinies they use are IV bred

Ah, Shiny Pokémon. There are three kinds. The cool, the lame, and the GREEN.
(But seriously though, there are a lot of green ones.)
They're not really worth spending that much time trying to get, and I don't think they're really that worth it to me either.
But they certainly seem to be for everyone else. They can literally be used as a currency. :rotfl:

I agree with ^. I don't really care for shiny Pokémon, as I prefer the regular look anyways, so they aren't that valuable. However, if someon wants them from me, I'll use them as currency

I try to collect shiny pokemon, but I've gotten them mostly from trade of people i trust. the only legitimate shiny I've gotten was a shiny gurdurr in victory road on X and Y
