Gen 6 Should I buy Pokemon Y or Alpha Sapphire?

I can chose one of them so which to chose.

Definitely should get Alpha Sapphire. Has better features and basically has better post-game in the form of Secret Bases. You aren't missing much by not getting Y (Well maybe except some Pokemon, but GTS and online trading is there for a reason :D)
 
Well, I've only ever played X/Y, so I can't give a comparison, but I have heard that ORAS is better than X/Y. I really liked playing X though. The graphics were good, and the megas were awesome. But ORAS has better megas imo, and a better storyline. So, you should probably go for that.
 
Y is a downgraded version of ORAS with a bit worse graphics, no post game story, and no background story at all. For instance, you don't know anything about the Gym leaders, or the E4. In black white you at least knew that shaulene or whoever it is is a writer, and koga's are ninja, etc etc. I dunno, I just didn't like xy that much...

Seriously speaking they are both great games, I myself enjoyed the story and map structure in XY but Team Aqua in AS is a bomb. I laughed so much while playing through their dialogues and also Secret Base thing is fun to do after you beat the game so I'd say you should buy Alpha Sapphire in a first place and maybe consider about Y later.

Definitely get ORAS. Much better gameplay and much better story to tell. Although it might be harder then XX and Y it has definitely more options to choose from and more things to do during the story

I suggest you go with Alpha Sapphire since its better in the story line and has more legendary pokemon as well as starters you can get in the actual game itself plus it includes primal reversion something that you can't do in pokemon x.

I was going to type Pokemon X, But reading me these made me want to get Alpha Sapphire. AS is basically an upgrade of x/y and the most current so it would be better to get that. The only thing I don't like about ORAS is that you can't customize your character like you could in x/y. (Why gamefreak... ;-;)

Oh and I don't own ORAS. I've just googled a lot of stuff.

I would go for the remakes, lots of nostalgia, and you get lots of new post game features. More of the characters get more in depth as well.

Oh, I forgot to mention, it's kind of obvious but May/Brendan obviously has a crush on you. Everytime they see you they're blushing, and stammer or whatever. Also during the credits...all that "I want to travel around and see you and spend time..."

Go for ORAS. I don't own either of the remakes, but they're the most recently updated Pokemon games. To compare the regions, I think Hoenn tops Kalos.

If you're into the competitive side of pokemon then definetly go for alpha sapphire. If you just like experiencing the games and you haven't played XY a and you've played gen 3 games before, then get XY. Alpha sapphire has more megas and moves from move tutors and more legendaries but XY is a brand new region and story and it's really well done. Your decision.

  • Introduction to new Mega Evolution! And a new form, Primal Reversion! (For Groudon and Kygore Only) Rayquaza gets a mega form and these new megas are exclusive to ORAS.
  • Soar across the skies with Latios (omega ruby) or Latias (alpha sapphire) and catch almost every legendary pokemon! (Expect event Pokemon like Keldeo, Mew, or Celebi.)
  • Secret Bases! Decorate your hideout and invite friends over to battle and even to help you train your pokemon!
  • Characters has a much more important role in the remakes (May/Brenden has a love interest on you and Zinnia is your guide into catching Rayquaza and Dexoys.) And almost every starter is obtainable!
  • Dexnav makes shiny Pokemon much easier to find (in my opinion)
  • Mirage Spots discovered with Latios/Latias. (catching Pokemon not native to Hoenn)
  • Pokemon Amie, & Super Training returns.
I recommend this game if you have played the original Ruby & Sapphire and want a little nostalgia in it. It's very addicting and fun! You should buy this game! - Yours Turly, Ninja Patty ;)
