I thought there was a device coming this 2015 that would enable 3ds to support amiibos, not just something exclusive to the New Nintendo 3ds. In respect to the fact that the 3ds version of smash would die or not, you are right, the 3ds version has some modes (smashadventure) which the wii u one doesn't have. Besides It is really cool to smash on the go.

I think Smash 3DS will remain for two reasons:

1. The 3DS is portable, while the Wii U is not. People will bring their 3DS system to play on the go, or out of town.
2. Also, almost no one I know personally actually owns a Wii U (including myself), and so the 3DS version is the only option.

The problem is that while they'll bring their 3DS system on the go, whether it's Smash is an entirely different issue. Not all 3DS owners will own the new Smash (let alone the odds of encountering someone else using a 3DS when going out of town). Wii U also likely has less lag issues and in general looks more visually appealing than the 3DS version.

Nope I know even if I ever got a Wii U I would still play the 3DS for its mobility and I believe its better then the WiiU version then again I prefer my gaming to be mobile over console .. Plus this SSB is for the first time ever on a mobile !! that has not been done till now so those who can't afford a WiiU can still enjoy a version of it on the 3DS..

I really don't think that the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros will die out soon at all. In fact, I think that it will live as long as the previous games, alongside the WIi U version of SSB4.
If you don't know, there are still millions of people who still play the classic Smash games like Meleee and Brawl, and the 3DS version also is a really great game. You can take it with you where you like, and you can battle people in tournaments with your own system.
The main reason people think that the 3DS version won't live as long is because they think that the controls are awkward. I really don't find them to be awkward (Note that I own a 3DS XL) in fact, I find them to be really natural and easy to use. Sure, you won't get the comfort you get on a GameCube controller, but it's still really good, for a handheld.

I guess many people will stop playing the 3ds one but for me, I don't have a wii u and I do not want one. I like my 3ds very much. I will buy a wii u only if awesome pokemon games start coming on it (which will never happen.)

Im pretty sure they won't forget it because some people only have 3ds and others also have a wiiu, so the ones who don't have wii u's will still play the game on the 3ds

Heck no! Smash Bros is still Smash Bros. It's always gonna be a dear part of the game family,so to speak, lol. :) And plus,we were planning to use them for when we get the Wii U version anyway,so of course it won't be a memory,it'll be helping out still! :D

Its sad that when Smash was released for the Wii-U most of the players stopped playing Smash on 3ds. I still think that both versions are great on there own in levels and graphics;).

I feel like it kind of did. While I myself do not own a Wii U, it's easier to do tech with the Wii U, the screen's bigger overall, and you can have bigger battles (can't you go up to like 8 people or something). The joystick's less liable to break off from "Smashing", also.
