So, with almost no one agreeing on a tier list I was hoping that we can say our opinions on where each character should place.

I think mario should be on the top tier somewhere with mewtwo right behind him

Well Mario does have great combos *cough*DownThrow*cough* But he is kind of lacking in his recovery and ko reliability.

Hmm... I was think of Mario too but now that you say it , Mario's recovery really kinda sucks because it's not really effective in many ways although it goes really fast . But I'm sure that the new Lucas and Mewtwo are gonna come to the tier list because they are probably gonna be extremely OP

I don't study tier lists that often but when I do I disagree a lot on some things.

(I guess you could say

Like Sonic being a higher tier than Captain Falcon... yeah it doesn't make sense. I wonder how these things are made anyways, do some people test every character and rate them or something? Or they just randomly make it? idk.

I say Ness and Lucas are definitely top tier for many reasons.

They have good recoveries, great special moves in general, Ness has great physical attacks for his charging and power while Lucas has great psychic attacks fit for his combo style. Plus, both of their throws are perfect for beating people at both high and low percentages. Just never at 0%.

I think that roy has to be very high up because he is fast, strong, has Good airials, perfect combo game, that means to me he Must be high on a list, he is Top tier (BTW he can instakill jigglypuff).

I must disagree on the recovery part. This is because they can easily be gimped while attempting to recover, others can counter them further , and some can make the recovery move disappear.

Okay, but most people or CPU will not go after you for sake of battle and not dying because of how low you may be. Plus, if you get high enough but miss from not being close enough and someone hits you from afar or hits you up close and retreats because they must make sure they don't fall, you can use the recovery a second time from being hit.

Well, when counter moves are used, it amplifies the damage that would've been given the the counterer, and the amplified damage can send Ness/Lucas further away from the stage. What I mean by making PK Thunder disappear is like using Rosalina's down b, or any attack on it, making it disappear. Finally, when they are gimped, they may also be knocked farther away from from the stage.

Once again, you can use it again. Plus, if you are using a custom Ness or Lucas character, you can be knocked back, use PK Thunder, hit again, use it again, so on, so forth. And I say custom because if you have the weakest PK Thunder, oddly the weakest send you farthest, plus if someone tries to hit it, but instead gets hit, you can still use it on yourself.

Having 2 PK Thunders will not help with recovery, especially if the gimp sends you back closer towards the blast lines (left/right and bottom) and while being able to travel further can help, Rosalina's down b will completely make it disappear, making gimping easier for her. Characters with specials who can make fighters turn around (Mario's cape) can send Ness/Lucas flying the wrong way. Other attacks that push the opponents away (Guardian Orbitars) can prevent them from getting to the ledge. Considering how much damage the flying part of PK Thunder can deal, they will actually be knocked back either to their death or closer to the blast zones.

If you are fighting 1-on-1, which most people do not. And most people nowadays play online matches or with friends and family. Besides, online, you are not aloud to target a single person for the whole match. Plus, online, you may be caught in battle so you can't think of a plan or strategy. And same goes for fighting with friends as they usually allow multiple people on at a time, other than themselves. Only real times someone or something would be smart enough to do that would be against a CPU which would rather come down and punch you instead.

Even in casuals, a Ness/Lucas player can be gimped. And a 1v1 always occurs when the last to fighters are remaining. A CPU Ness/Lucas will still try to recover with it, and they can be rid of just by being hit. Someone with a quick spike (ahem, Ganondorf) can easily spike them, due to the fact that they will be a sitting duck for a few moments.

Not if they come diagonally or from right under to grab the ledge. Forget about that? Plus, 1-on-1 does not happen online, though, unless you tie with another player. And with multiple people in your house playing with you, you can't possibly reach 1-on-1 unless it's only you and 1 other person or you're playing stock, which time is preset.

Unless the flying Ness/Lucas has high priority, an attack will usually stop them, and if it's a projectile like Pacman's apple, it can hit diagonally. If beneath the ledge, a fast fall to an aerial or or projectile like Peach's vegetables can bring them lower. Can't say anything about time battles.

Even if the attack hits them, it may be mid move so if it stops them, they can use the move again. If it doesn't stop them, they go through it.

I've been thinking of separating each character by weight then later separating them by usefulness. Diddy should be the same tier as Mario with the nerfs and seeing the current metagame (MVD did well with Diddy). Bowser just seems like he's lower tier than DK imo as his coverage and ability to combo doesn't seem as great as DKs. Jigglypuff and Wario need comparing as they are similar characters in terms of floaty-ness and ability to KO early.

Actually, when I play For Glory online with 4 players, I can barely find a person. I always find someone on 1v1. While you can't target one player for the whole match, one person might knock down that unlucky Ness or Lucas and you might be the one to punish the Ness or Lucas.

Plus, online, you may be caught in battle so you can't think of a plan or strategy.

So you call PK Fire then back throw a strategy? Out of all the Ness spammers on For Glory, none of them was kicked because they can't think of a strategy.

Once again, you can use it again.

Yeah true, but what if you don't make it back? Yes, that would be unlikely that you wouldn't get back if you were Lucas, and even if you did make it back, what if you miss the ledge? Since PK Thunder can go a lot farther than a lot of recoveries, if he misses the ledge, it's over, and he can be punished any way you want to with any character. Sure, the rule applies to other characters, but Ness and Lucas (especially Lucas) are a bit easier to punish since he won't be that far in the air by the time his recovery is over.

Not if they come diagonally or from right under to grab the ledge. Forget about that?

You can easily stage spike them.

Couldn't the person who just hit you while you were trying to recover the first time hit you again and send you back farther?
