They technically didn't confirm it, they just said that just because he was getting an amiibo didn't mean he was getting in.

Somehow it would be pushing it for a 3rd party character to have 2 Amiibo.

indeed the golden one, while yes that's of course under the mentality that Mario has 4 different Amiibo (but it's Mario so not big surprise), they are still giving Capcom a little something extra with amiibo, and what's wrong with giving a 3rd party more than one amiibo anyways?

How so? Literally all evidence suggests he's getting in. Yacht Club has been very coy with its use of words. They haven't confirmed he'll be in Smash but they haven't suggested otherwise.
