Has your computer ever been attacked by a virus? what did it do? where do you suspect it came from? an email or a dodgy site? did you manage to sort it out?

In the past I use to have this issue, but ever since Firefox came around it really hasn't happened anymore, thanks to its add-ons.

I own a Mac, so viruses are a rarity. Since 2006 (When I got my Mac) I haven't had a virus.

I've never had a virus myself, thank goodness.

In the past, I had this duo of trojans that always seemed to plague me, no matter which reputable website on. They would hide in obfuscated Javascript and then install some annoying program on my computer that wasn't exactly harmful, but it did agitate my antivirus by triggering it every time I visited a page that it would trigger on.

Because it was the same two pieces of Malware every time, I learned the manual process of removing the threats from my computer and decided against just letting my Antivirus program at it all together.

On my own machines, I do not think that I've had any sort of Malware slip through the cracks of my malware protection in a very, very long time.

One day one of the legendery virus attacked me one who can delete all the documents you have until it wipe all you're drive you have to install a specific batch to run on command promp the virus is called <Tazebama> go search it online I am not lying to you

My computer never has caught a virus since I keep it protected with antivirus 365/24/7. My friend has gotten tons of virus on his old laptop though. Everytime I go to his house, he's got a new virus or issue on his computer. It's actually helped me learn a few tricks to remove viruses (deleting registry files, boot in safe mode, using cmd). One time he had a trojan horse which blocked all his applications. Luckily I managed to remove it with Malwarebytes (good virus scanner by the way). Fun times.

My best score was on my old Fujitsu laptop. I found it slow (most of the viruses makes your computer as slow as a Windows 3.1 computer), so I ran avast, and at the end of the scan... 30 viruses ! Most of them being scripts, due to Internet.

But if some viruses are tough enough to resist the antivirus, I play a bit with CMD to delete it.

I've gotten viruses before, but I've been able to remove most (if not all) of them myself.

I THINK I once did. If it is a virus, then it deleted my Operating System, and now I can't use it anymore! I don't know where it came from. Can't even guess. Sense I can't use my computer anymore, I can't get rid of it. I need a new one, but my Dad won't let me.:(

I think my dad is evil.

I've never gotten viruses since I'm really cautious on sites I'm not familiar with. I always check other sites to see if the site I want to go on is safe. But sometimes I get browser-highjackers on my computer D:.

I got a viruses that completely annihilated my computer and deleted anything in site. A shame, but the computer wasn't good anyhow, so it wasn't much of a loss. I've had a couple viruses try and make their way in, but I told them to buzz off.

Here's my story: I had several virus before: 4 years ago when I played too much games, the box from my computer exploded a bit and the computer won't turn on:( one year later I also played games on my laptop and somehow the computer froze  I'm not allowed to play games since that day :( another one year later I was watching videos all the time on YouTube then many months later the computer was slow, every time I go on a different website it takes like half an hour to load, so my parents called someone to fix the problem so I haven't had these viruses since 2012 :)

Since I discovered Ubuntu, I've basically forgotten about virus, I usually run the Live-CD and clean all the pendrives and my hard-drives, in case there are virus in them.

I remember about 10 years ago my little sister and her friends tried to watch there first porn, they installed some cam app and got some infamous worm and ad-ware instead. Since then I've taken security seriously and the only thing my anti virus flags up are keygens.

I thought viruses are a bit of a myth now days - I'm more worried about programs trying to install an unwanted toolbar or extension -__-
