What do you think of For Glory?

Heyooooo random newbie here and like the title says I wanna hear or read your opinion of the For Glory mode of Smash in terms of player behaviors and strength, lag characters ect. (Oh God that run-off sentence)
Anyway, I feel like people have gotten better over the year. (Except for Bayonettas They just kinda spam Down-B and smash attacks.)

Don't go on for glory. It actually makes you worse. Too much lag and then you get too used to it. You want to get better? Anther's ladder or locals

Anther's Ladder looks pretty cool, but does anyone actually goes one for glory looking to improve? I mean I go on for fun which is very ironic.
 
Well, For Glory is typically a place where you'll meet good people to fight, lag, or complete noobs and trolls :p While I don't really go on it often, I've seen what it is like. It can't really be guaranteed that anyone will get better by going to For Glory. I have a good time rekting some people there though :3
 
For Glory doesn't really make you better, it just makes people who think they're good feel good imo.
 
For Glory (in my case, just FFA) is good when you're looking for a friendly competition with people who know a thing or two, hone your skills, and/or find some salty players. But then there's those pathetic cheaters and boosters who put me off For Glory. I avoid 1v1 though because I don't feel like being the only target and Team Battle because the enemy team is most likely projectile spammers.
 
For glory just brakes my confidence. I don't know how to get better at smash other than searching up guides about the characters' combos. I'm suppose to remember all my smash mains!?!!?!?!???!!!!!?!!!?!?!?!?!?!??!?! I just use attacks that seems relevant. Opponent above me, use up-air
 
For glory on 3DS is relatively easy to slip into. Wii U is a bit harder. As for knowing what moves to use Smash 4 requires more of a mind game than the other smash games. If you really want to get better practice one character at first and maybe branch off to one or two more.

For glory was one of the worst experiences i had with super smash lol. i prefer offline mode: more intense, more fun and no lag.
Sometimes i have good matches in For glory too, but there are more people with bad connection than people with good connection..
i hate nintendo's online system.. just an opinion anyway.

I hate for glory in all honesty, Theres so many spammers, The lags horrible, And its just crap...
I prefer offline mode a lot more, Its more fun, No lag, And the items make it crazy!
I have good matches every now and then, But thats very rarely, I prefer doing singleplayer and challenges to get trophys and stuff, I hate nintendo's online system to, Like pinob :p

Input lag makes me mad xD So I usually never play for glory. Or online Smash anymore. Or maybe I just suck. ;-;

Idk, I don't think I've even won 1 match on For Glory. The lag is intense and I don't have the skill to overwrite that. The thing is, Smash is a fighting game, so lag affects it in a big way ;~; One piece of lag could kill you. So, I don't play online >.>

For Glory is either one of two things for me.I either feel amazing after winning some matches,or hate myself for a moment and give up by taking a small nap. :writing:
There are some skilled and,at the same time in some matches,annoying people to fight against,so the match sometimes feels fair and square.Now,it isn't the same thing when you're attempting to deal with a guy who keeps spamming with a character all the time,or the type that just adores to rub his/her victory in your screen with a taunt.In fact,it's not easier at all.Or even the ones who have connection which can make a typical 5-minute match into one of 20 minutes.It's chaos. :p
It's not all terrible for me,but I can agree with other people's arguments as to why this mode isn't all amazing.

Strangely, for my 3ds, I can never do for fun, because it's always the one with the lag. When I go on for glory, I get the best battles possible because I never get lag from that category. All of for fun gives me lag, and sometimes I get lag on the 4 layer for glory battles(Two teams of two) But otherwise, I don't get lag from for glory. I personally like for glory better because it has no items, and thus actually shows you who is the best of the best. In for fun, it's whoever get's the best item's first, and is more of a chance game. I normally go one on one to try my skills against hard players.

Ah For Glory. That place where I can get wrecked. That place where I can try hard in lag and win. That place where I try every character imaginable with a chance that I'll like said character or that place where I go on just to play a character I like from a poll so I can get coins. It's fun but no way even comparable to the fun you'll get from local play. The lag varies from player to player online so it's out of luck you get a good fight (or win out of lag/failure to recover).

I don't like For Glory much. Either a good player, lag, troll, salty person, spammer, newb, etc.. When you have a good foe it's nice, but when you don't, it really isn't fun. Tournaments WOULD be fun if there wasn't sore losers who DC to make you lose too....

Im not very good so I usually stick to NPCs because no lag, I choose the difficulty and im not wasting internet on some 3 year old spamming littlemacs side-B.

I actually like for glory it is really fun and it is really fun. The only thing I wish would change is that I would change is that I would add a smash ball to it. I'm not saying that it's more fun than for fun but it's awesome. It's just that when you lose then put it in your records which sucks if you keep losing.

Firsty, not to offend anyone here, but 99% of the time, you know who the spammers are? The Swordfighters. Oh, and also, we can't forget the Bayonetta mains! Like, almost every time I say, "Hmm, it has been quite a while since I've played some For Glory" my ears bleed from the constant HYA!! HYAHH! that Link screams every two seconds, which makes playing For Glory pretty much impossible for me to be honest.

Secondly, lag is the only reason why I keep losing (other than the hackers and the INSANELY good players), is because of LAG :/

On a third note, welcome to Pedia, my man! Hope you have a great time here! Just don't randomly wager PC you don't have! inside joke for all of you other Pedians right here;)

Actually, for unknown reasons, I have never actually experienced any kind of lag while playing ssb for glory. (It's actually not unknown, it's probably because I have the best wifi there is, and I rarely have issues with it. Anytime there is lag, it's only when I do team smash, and that's because someone out of the other 3 players has sucky wifi. The people who keep loosing because of lag [I've been there, I know how much it sucks] probably should see about getting their service changed, or upgrading to better wifi.) And I play for glory almost every day. To me, for glory is how you test your skills against a good opponent, without any lucky grabs at the smash ball, or using any stupid items that fall from the sky. Sure, items are fun, but that's why they STAY in the for fun section. For glory, especially one on one, tests your skills and reflexes. Also, I fail to see how sword fighters specifically spam, seeing how all the ranged weaponry fighters just sit in one place like a chicken and charge and shoot you the whole match and call that a fight. Sword fighters and brawlers are generally the ones that don't spam. If most sword fighters are considered spammers, then everyone is. Now, on the subject of bayonetta, she freaking sucks, they never should have made her, and her main users are probably all spamming her combos. Literally all she has is her combos. If you happen to dodge them, or block them, she's pretty much screwed. Im sorry, but I just can't stand bayonetta. She's a waste of a dlc character, and it's even worse since she's the LAST!
