Ever thould what happens inside a pokeball? When a pokemon is caught, what happens? Does it reduce in size? Or is it converted to energy? My friend says it is converted to energy.

What do you guys think about this?

I always liked to think that the Pokemon shrink when they go inside the Pokeball, and that the Pokeball is like a huge room for them, so they could sleep and play inside the Pokeball. I wish they would actually tell what happens inside a Pokeball in a future game, it would make a really good story.

I pokémon Heart Gold they said that the pokémon were made into electrical information then stored. That would mean it's basically like teleporting (which is possible too in pokémon :p); the computer (they pokéball) scans you and saves the information, then it "deletes" your atoms and when you need to get out it reconstructs you using this information. Which is why there is a red flash when the pokémon comes out; it's pieced together again. The pokéball is just a computer that stores and reconstructs/deconstructs your pokémon. That's also why it's possible to store pokémon in pc-boxes. To me that's rather creepy; they actually go into non-existence for a while. Just think about it...

I think that the pokemons get so small that they fit inside the tiny ball. In the anime, you can see a red light fly out of the capsule when the pokemon is released, so it might be converted into energy. I agree With Your friend, because its seems like the most logical answer. Original thread by the way

Hmmm... I think they shrink and the Pokeball is a huge fun room where they're happy. In Pokemon X if you close Pokemon Amie the Pokemon immediately shrinks and then the Pokemon Amie option on the touchscreen shows them walking around in a room with a wallpaper and cushions and Pokepuffs. Happy idea :cat:

I have a feeling that the Pokeball records the Pokemon's "data" like memirores and such, turns it into a bunch of atoms, then remantles you again  Maybe energy as well because of the red beam that comes out in Anime.

I think they shrink to a really small size. The red beam could just be them growing back to regular size. After all, when Pokemon evolve, they lose their form and turn into an energy-like states first. Plus, them turning into energy or data is a little creepy to think about.

Robot Chicken has the answer...
In all seriousness, I think that Poké Balls serve as a little resting/relaxation place for Pokémon for when they're not in battle. (Not like the Pokémon Center, though because they don't heal inside Poké Balls unless it's a Heal Ball)

Can't really say but to me i think they shrink down or something like that or some kind of energy conversion is happening there, something like a genie's home to me,the pokemon shrinks down and inside the pokeball it rests or occupies.

Jup same line of thought :) You know Bill? Of course you do. Anyway, he says basically the same stuff so I'm pretty sure we're correct.

What I think happens in a pokeball is that the Pokemon gets shrunk down to actuallyh fit inside of it then inside its like a luxury bar and room all in one. it has like those really uncomfortable seats that look reall weird and you hear some piano music in the background with like a fancy glass chandelier and there is the robot waiter serving drinks at the bar I dont I think thats what its like. Or maybe thats how it is in a Luxury ball.

A few good question, personally I think their shrunken down and put in a habitat depending on what typing the pokemon is. Inside is food, water, everything they need to live a life. I also like to think they can hear and see what's going on outside if they want to as well as have the ability to let themselfs out if they want to

To me what happens to the Pokemon inside of their Pokeball is that they are trapped inside of a world of hate and torture where they cannot do anything but wait until they come out summoned by their masters :vamp: Haha Just kidding XD I think that it is quite varied :D

I think that they just stay in the pokeball like how a dog is in its cage and I saw this in pokemon white when iris talks about her dragonite as cute and it growls in its pokeball so it is conscious of the outside world.

Simple, korieteh. The Pokémon is squeezed inside the Ball, unable to move if the Ball is too small for the Mon's size, being forced to obey no matter what if the trainer is strong.
Then came Team Plasma.

Pokemon may get too small after getting into their pokemon and may there will be facilities in pokemon like some kind food making machine, a bed, big play ground and many more things:p. Laugh out loud

I think its just a lounge for the pokemon inside. Theres a tv a couch and some other entertainment forms for them to do until they are finally called upon by their master. They also shrink to a small size before entering.
