What if we live in a world where Bing is more popular than google? lol What will people be saying when they want to search for something? lol "Hey whats beau? Lemme Bing it for ya!" That'll sound so ludicrous to be honest lol anyways, what are your thoughts about? What funny ways will people be saying when they'll be searching something with Bing? lol

'Bing it, mate.' 'Yep, I Binged it.' :panda:

I don't think we'd feel any different if we didn't know that Google should have been more popular. I'm talking, in short, as if we were in another dimension. In this dimension, however, if Bing suddenly replaced Google, that would be the end of the world. Doom. Doooom I say  because Google is a substantial part of the internet as a whole. Many sites owe their functionality at least in part to Google. If Google goes down, the entire internet will go down with it.

Liu: Hey Jeff did you get those new Bing-Glasses?
Me: You bet!

That's funny actually each time Google pops up people will groan and Google Bing just to get the web browser if it's not set.

Though I wonder if people would still visit Google for the pictures that Google always displays.

It really wouldn't be all that different. Google yourself. Bing yourself.

I've never really used Bing though ;_;

It would be the same. Everyone would say bing instead of google.

That will never happen though, because bing hides it most accurate searches on the 2nd page.

That would be bad . In Bing it off I think Bing won but I would never switch there because I don't like the website design and how the website is set up. Can't imagine everyone saying "hey let me Bing that for you" it just sounds so...off Oo

The world would be very very different in fact. Google got money from their popularity and then made Google Chrome (I don't care about that one actually), bought YouTube and changed it quite a lot, made Gmail, GoogleDrive and all things that allow you to work with your classmates without being in the same room (editing a presentation or a document all at once), they made the Android OS, etc...

In a world where Google never was popular, we would all use FireFox (not that much of a bad thing, less compatibility issues) or maybe Internet Explorer if Microsoft used their money well, we would all use Outlook to send emails, we would have to be in the same room to work with classmates, we would all have Windows Phones (Bing is from Microsoft), etc...
The only thing that would not be worse than our current world is YouTube.

It wouldn't really matter... It wouldn't be different, Google would be hated and Bing would be loved.

The only difference I can see is that "Google it on!" Isn't very catchy.

The words Google and Bing are both pretty abnormal when you think about it. The only reason why 'google it' is a popular phrase and doesn't sound weird is because it's exactly that - it's used everyday by everyone. If Bing was popular, 'Bing it' would be the norm.

Person : "Hey, what's the capital of England?"
Me : "Let me just DuckDuckGo it for you!"

:sneaky:

https://duckduckgo.com/

I think it's better than Google, to be honest ._.

Let me correct that for you:
Person : "Hey, what's the capital of England?"
Me : "Do you live in a cave? Every one knows that"
:p

And yeah, some people advertised me for DuckDuckGo but I never got into it. It's interface once you made a query is lacking something in my opinion.

Google has colors so that you see blocks very quickly but DDG is all black on white so you spend more time making the difference between titles and descriptions than determining if the result is relevant or not.

And I like more the idea of pages than all in one place. Because if you saw something quite interesting but not that much so you kept scrolling, then you want to go back to that result, with Google you just had to remember what page it was on, but with Duck Duck Go, you have to scroll back and you will most likely never find it again in the middle of all those results.

Forget everything you said and look at the hard evidence for DuckDuckGo:

  • It has Duck in it's name.
  • Wait, it has two Ducks in it's name.
Also, let's compare something.

First, we have Google:

I mean, okay. It looks decent. Nice and simple, but nothing that strikes out.

Now, look at DuckDuckGo:

I mean, the choice is obvious. Have you ever seen a duck wear a green bowtie?

I think I made my point.

Eww, Bing.... I will always love Google :p If Bing was more popular than Google, this whole world will collapse :playful: But then there would be a thread saying "What if Google>Bing" But Google used to be called Backrub xD

I don't like Bing! Though I loves Microsoft.
I love google as a search engine anyway, and its office looks amazing!

The fact that Bing has to pay people to use their service tells you that they have problems. https://www.bing.com/rewards/dashboard
That scenario is ridiculous. No offense.
