What is your favorite Mario experience?

With most franchises, there is a a game or two that the fans want to forget. Sonic had Sonic 06, Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric, and to some, Sonic Unleashed. Pac-Man had a blunder, too. Pac-Man on the Atari 2600 is one of the worst ports of any game I have ever seen. However, recent games in a certain franchise have seemed to hold on to what made it so great. The Super Mario Bros. franchise has released several games that mark a generation. Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Galaxy 2, New Super Mario Bros., the list goes on. Where some franchises like Sonic are more like a drunk man walking home then a straight line of games, Mario holds up. Since about 1999, the Sonic franchise has stumbled and has utterly disappointed many who hope one day it will gt back up. Mario however, creates experiences remembered by many for many, many, years. I know it has to me. But here is the real question. What Mario game stuck with YOU the longest? What game would make you re-buy the console to play it, if you don't still own it?
Dude, if you're going to talk about Mario in a thread, stay on topic. You spent a bit of this opening griping about other game company's failures. (I don't disagree, just stay on point.)

Anyway... My best 3D Mario experience has to be Galaxy 1. Besides the story everyone talks about, its gameplay was a dream: new ideas and classic feels made it the perfect new game. It looks like everything good in Mario, and plays with all the smoothness of the best wii games.

Ok, i had some trouble trying understand much the writing you have here, so im just going to response by title.... Anyways here goes >.>

Best mario experience for me was likely lost levels hehe :p yes i know much all here seems to not like it a lot, but this is my opinion so oh well kek :p it might sound kinda weird, but i sometimes miss old mario with the pixel graphics (or whatever its called, idk really im just doing my best) lol. Plus they kinda bring back nice memories of the start of the whole mario set of games (sorry, idk if that made sense but hope you know what im trying to say), an thats fun going back like that for me hehe :p i would play super mario 3 on my gameboy advance for these reason too at times. :)

I have always loved mario games, from the very first one to the latest mario 3d world. But the best game experience I had was playing mario galaxy 1 for the nintendo wii. I got completely sick at that game, I remember in one occassion, I was playing it so hard that I didn´t go to work. Later on my boss was calling me and I had to lie, telling him that I had a terrible headache so I wasn´t able to show up at work. When I finish the call, I jumped back to mario galaxy. It is a game I still play and love doing so

hey me too! i love those games hehe :p i wish nintendo would release either a third one or a wii u remake/remaster (no i dont mean the exact duplicate thats already on the eshop for purchase, i mean like a redesign such as they did with ORAS an so forth). i still play those sometimes if i can, i love them so much! i like the outer space/galaxy styled levels scenery, plus the music is by far nintendo's best in the whole series in my opinion. mario galaxy has the best mario music in my opinion, an i mean the best in the whole series so far. :p a remake for these would be amazing i think! ;D

My best experience was playing new super Mario bros on the ds with my friend! Me and him used to play the vs mode on new super Mario bros, I would be luigi and he would be Mario. To see who was the best we did about 5 times and i won most of them :D but sadly my friend is a sore ooser so when he loses he moans and huffs at me.

Super Mario Bros. 3, for me. Each world had wonderful music and most of the levels were actually pretty challenging to me back then. I had some of the best memories from this game, 'specially in World 4: Little Oopa was flabbergasted at how much larger the enemies were from status quo; I even thought something was wrong with my game at first lol.

One of my favorite Mario games of all time was Paper Mario on the N64. It really just had everything going for it. It has wonderful music, great graphics for the time, a very large overworked for the N64, and many secrets and such to explore. I was so glad the day this game came out for Virtual Console. If you haven't played it yet, you might want to consider!
