Dude, if you're going to talk about Mario in a thread, stay on topic. You spent a bit of this opening griping about other game company's failures. (I don't disagree, just stay on point.)With most franchises, there is a a game or two that the fans want to forget. Sonic had Sonic 06, Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric, and to some, Sonic Unleashed. Pac-Man had a blunder, too. Pac-Man on the Atari 2600 is one of the worst ports of any game I have ever seen. However, recent games in a certain franchise have seemed to hold on to what made it so great. The Super Mario Bros. franchise has released several games that mark a generation. Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Galaxy 2, New Super Mario Bros., the list goes on. Where some franchises like Sonic are more like a drunk man walking home then a straight line of games, Mario holds up. Since about 1999, the Sonic franchise has stumbled and has utterly disappointed many who hope one day it will gt back up. Mario however, creates experiences remembered by many for many, many, years. I know it has to me. But here is the real question. What Mario game stuck with YOU the longest? What game would make you re-buy the console to play it, if you don't still own it?
Anyway... My best 3D Mario experience has to be Galaxy 1. Besides the story everyone talks about, its gameplay was a dream: new ideas and classic feels made it the perfect new game. It looks like everything good in Mario, and plays with all the smoothness of the best wii games.
