I've never really cared about the the Gyms. Plus I recall that in Gold you could trade a Bellsprout for an Onix in the town with the first Gym.

Yes I know. I just never really used it since I always was a bit overleveled by the time I entered the gym.

I've only played two Pokémon games. I've played Pokémon White and Pokémon Y. For Pokémon White, I chose Oshawott as my starter Pokémon, and for Pokémon Y, I chose Chespin as my starter Pokémon.

I'd have a tendency to restart my game many times, but in most cases in Ruby and Emerald I'd choose Mudkip or Treecko. Gen 6 I'm choosing Fennekin, but only so I get Zapdos later in the game. I'm actually #teamfroakie and can't wait to use Protean Greninja from a friend safari

That is still the start of the game JunZhi (if you were talkig to xXAwesomeDudeXx that is. Chespin and Squirtle you can get at basically the same time in the game. And eh, Torchic could count given you can get that at any time (including the start of the game)
