What was you're first reaction to it?

At first I thought it was ok but after getting to the second gym, I realized that there was a huge variety of Pokemon and then I started catching more and I really got into it.

Crystal version was the only game in my gameboy for a long time. I remember I was stuck in some cave for like a month because I couldn't solve a puzzle so I was just wandering in random directions. Even when I was randomly wandering in the dark, I still played for hours and the day I got out was a very memorable day haha.

I remember I started while I was very young, well I basically started coz everyone else from my school started, I was like I dunno 7-8 years old, but then I stopped when everyone else did it, and haven't played it for a while.

I played a little bit of red. I wasn't sure at first, but I started to like it after I got my starter and trained it up a little to battle other trainers. I caught some other pokemon and beat the first gym. Then I was hooked. xD

If my memory is correct Pokemon Emerald was my first Pokemon game I played which I played when it came out around 2005. I can slightly remember playing it and being very confused at the start, I had no idea which Pokemon I should be using or generally what moves to use and where to go. I can remember getting a level 50 flying Pokemon and being over the moon with it. I just loved flying around the map as it made it so, so much easier to get around. Overall, I remember loving Pokemon as a child :)

My first game was Crystal and I thought it was hard as the day. It took me two weeks to find Violet City. Granted, I was only eight.

After a while of playing it I began to realize the mechanics of the game and enjoyed it more when I decided to raise more than just the starter.

At first I found it extremely hard, and also I found it too complicated as I was only really little. Then I grew to love it as I understood it more.

When I was 8 I played my first on in gameboy it was the yellow version but since I didn't know the note moving tech I love playing but I didn't even know it was famous

Hysterical laughter.

My first Pokemon game was FireRed for the GBA. I made Red go upstairs to his room and my sister, who was watching me play, said, "Make him go to bed." I made Red walk towards it, and unconsciously said, "Stay on target..." When he actually got into the bed, I laughed till I cried because I hadn't been expecting him to.

:rotfl:

You could even make him snore :hilarious:

I borrowed Sapphire from a friend because he was always bringing his gameboy to school and I see him play. He was in the cave where you battle Aquas, just before awakening Kyogre. He told me that he was saving something for a legendary pokemon. As I was playing, I decided to wander a bit and end up catching a Tropius with a MASTER BALL. When I returned the game he was really mad and won't talk to me. Haha. I ended up picking Ruby (my first game) and helped him complete his pokedex to make up for it.

I just remembered being in awe. I had gotten a pre-owned version of Pokemon Red, so I wanted to see what the data was on the old one, and I had found a Lv. 100 Aerodactly in my party. I just thought it looked so cool, but I ended up forgetting about it after I got that magnificent Charizard.

I was playing Blue version and on my first playthrough I forgot how to save. On my second playthrough I chose Bulbasaur instead of Squirtle I think and I didn't know that I was naming my rival too and I thought Oak was hard of hearing so I put the same name in again. Kinda funny how my trainer put his name on the gym signs twice. I played the game later and I beat Brock's Onix with a Metapod.

My first game was Pokemon Red that my brother gived me , i did have a hard time playing it, i did not understand that i had to capture/train pokemon to beat the gym leaders, trainers and that stuff, i remenber that i used only Mankey to progress in the game and i always used the same move (Karate Chop) because i thought that it was the best move :rotfl:, i was pretty cynical about gary to but his vaporeon caught my attention in the Pokemon League.

I don't really remember. From what I recall, I thought it was the most amazing thing since the invention of inventions, and that I played it 24/7. Though Silver was my first, I played my copy of Red more, spending days in the Viridian forest and leaving with fully evolved pokemon. :)

When I first played Pokemon....*evil laugh*. For real though. I was hooked when I first started playing. Now children, it's story time...

My first game was Pokemon FireRed. I watched my older brother play the game. I saw the battling, the catching, the shopping, the exploration, etc. I really didn't get the main point of the game (I was 4). My brother eventually quit, because the new Pokemon Emerald came out, and he decided he was going to get it eventually. He did get it, and he gave it to my sister. Although, we had 1 GameBoy at that time, so my dad bought a new one. In my mind, I was like "This game must be good" because my sister stayed hooked onto her new GameBoy. Then eventually, my sister got bored around the time my older brother got a DS and Pokemon Diamond. She restarted the file and gave me FireRed, the game of my childhood...this is where my adventure began...

I created a new file. I read everything Prof. Oak said. I liked to read the dialogue a lot, and imagine how it was like for a 5 year old to read an entire game. My brother literally stood there playing his Pokemon Diamond, while he helped me with words. Eventually, I played. I started having fun when I got my first Pokemon, Squirtle. I then battled Gary. I won, and was like "This is why my brother and sister likes this game!" It was so fun... I stayed hook, after I learned the mechanics and the point of the game. My siblings kept on playing with me. And years passed. My brother and sister quit eventually (well, I my brother does still play PKM Roms), but I kept on playing. The first time I played Pokemon? It was amazing. I had a nice childhood and adventure :) and I'm still playing now.

I first played Pokemon Pokemon White version 2 years after its release. I loved it a lot so I played Diamond and Black 2. After all those games, I got Pokemon X and I LOVE IT!

My first game was Pokémon Red, on the year of release. I was around 6-7 at the time. I remember me and brother fighting over who would play now and who would watch, and naming our characters stupid names like poop, buttface, etc. That game was what opened my eyes to the gaming industry, and since poke red, I've played all pokemon games and probably will be playing them on my death bed.
I've made a lot of great friends because of Pokémon, and it's always a nice surprise to find someone playing Pokemon where I go to college.

On Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, my parents had to help my brother and me figure out where to go at the start, get out of the bag menu, and get past strength puzzles lol.

When I got a Nintendo DS for the first time,
I got Pokemon Diamond.
As my memory serves, I was in the GTS back when Nintendo Wi-Fi connection was pretty fresh.
But due to me not being familiar with the DS yet, I was pretty much trapped there and played with some of the Pokemon in the PC as well as Pokemon in my party like a Lv.100 Arceus, until I learned you can exit a building by pressing ''Down'' on a Red block.

That is why first time Pokemon players and used Pokemon games that were victims of Action Replay don't mix....
