Gen 5 Why gen 5 was made

The fact that the 3DS was around while Gen V was happening does not mean that production for X/Y had already started. At the time, 3DS sales were really low and it could have been suicide for the franchise to make X/Y that early. Do note that they had the Dream Radar extension for 3DS, so it's not like they completely forgot about it. Gen V being only for the DS was just simply because the 3DS hadn't gained enough popularity yet.

Well...There was never supposed to be a Black White 2, it's just that people hurried the process because people wanted a new game, right? 'Cause soulsilver and heartgold came out in 2009. The story lines for Black and Black 2 and White and White 2 were supposed to be together...but they released Black and :White as a placeholder in 2011 (it had been 2 years already). the following year they released Black White 2.
