If that was the full reason they'd be smarter to work on the marketing of the Wii U.I don't know. Probably because the Wii U had abysmal sales compared to the original Wii. So Nintendo is gaining lost profit.
To be fair, Wii U is pretty much a lost cause. The 'Wii' brand is kinda damaged, a lot of casuals don't care nowadays and see it as the old fad probably whilst 'hardcore' games will associate 'Wii' with kiddy games, which Nintendo could fix with NX by marketing it in a much better way with a launch lineup that showcases it's variety, complete with a whole host of third-party games that Wii U cannot possibly regain now because of how 'hard' it will be to port those games to the console, most 3rd party devs will continue to just either ignore Wii U or release very late ports after adding in a map for the gamepad and passing it off as a 'worthwhile wait for new features on the gamepad'.If that was the full reason they'd be smarter to work on the marketing of the Wii U.
Agreed. But if you thought they learnt from the naming issues of the Wii U you should consider the New 3DS... I certainly hope they come up with a better name for the NX.To be fair, Wii U is pretty much a lost cause. Honestly, 'Wii U' just doesn't work as a name, for me, too because even a 'Wii U is the NEW console by Nintendo' stuff wouldn't really work. Just release NX, do the 'NEW console by Nintendo, capable of ___ graphics with THESE amazing games' marketing and keep releasing great games, both Nintendo's own and third party games that hopefully NX can fully support with the added console power and better console architecture, similar to PC, Xbox One and PS4.
xD That makes me wonder if Nintendo are truly clueless or just decided to go with the terrible naming 'for teh lulz' and have a really good name in store for NX. Honestly, 'Nintendo Revolution' or 'Nintendo Gamesphere' or even 'Nintendo Supernova' (I'll admit, I saw the last two on the internet and the first is the old Wii codename, but hey, they sound good) would make the new console sound like a force to be reckoned with!Agreed. Gamesphere... don't know if that's the best choice, but anything is better than New Not-3DS-Or-Wii-U! Since according to their naming system that would be the logical option.xD That makes me wonder if Nintendo are truly clueless or just decided to go with the terrible naming 'for teh lulz' and have a really good name in store for NX. EDIT: Funnily enough, 'Gamesphere' sounds like 'Gamecube', but 'Gamesphere' sounds kinda retro to me. Also, it's like they have a greater being, a giant collection of truly epic games on this new Nintendo console.
