Will Iwata have to Resign?

Wii U sales are not bad. Wii U is doing exactly as the Wii was doing at first as far as I am concerned

Not yet. The original Wii sold 9 million worldwide in it's first 8 months. The Wii U has done 1/2 that in just over a year. Not bad, but nowhere near the original. I expect a huge spike when Mario Kart 8 is released however!

Thanks. I believe during the first 3 months is where they were closer, but I might be wrong and in the grand scheme of things the point I was trying to drive is that a lot of the doom comes more from the media than anything else.

That said, I imagine that the first year was the sales hit-mark Iwata and Co. were aiming for that sadly couldn't be fulfilled. Hopefully like you say, with Mario Kart 8 and other strong cards to come to shelves we will have more sales of the console.

Yeah, the first 3 months were strong ... better than Sony and Microsoft had done in comparable time, although few media outlets reported it. Far too much doom and gloom, even among Nintendo specific sites (Nintendo Life for one) With Wii Fit, DKC, Mario Kart, etc ... the first half of this year looks to in a whole other league compared to last year! :) I

He won't resign. however, there will be some big changes to Nintendo. They'll probably start catching up to the times now.

I certainly hope so. As much as I love Nintendo's unique approaches, they need to admit the times they don't work.
