Mario Maker gave us the power to create our own Super Mario levels and share them to the world. From the looks of it, it became a hit; widely popular even, a must have! lol What if, they let us design our own race tracks in Mario Kart? Imagine creating a map filled with booby traps (hehe booby lol) and you can test the track out before sharing it with everyone in the world! lol Or create a map much like the Rainbow Road in Mario Kart Wii? Better yet, you create your own battle courses! Change settings like number of laps, checkpoint tracks (like MK8 N64 Rainbow Road lol), battle courses either timed, or team deathmatch or last man standing! What about shine runners and coin runners? lol

Think of all the possibilities! lol I hope Nintendo does this for the next or future mario kart games. Just like Mario Maker, Nintendo would be releasing DLCs of stuff to put for creating your race tracks lol

Of course, this is does have some flaws lol This means, a lower chance of DLC maps in that mario kart, it'll take quite a while for them to code this and of course (pun intended lol) people would be taking advantage of this when playing online lol unless, Nintendo lets it only be playable locally lol

What do y'all think of this idea? lol I'd like to hear from ya guys lol

This is a really amazing idea! I really hope this is in Mario Kart 9/NX! Making tracks and sharing them with your friends or no one in particular would be fun. Also, you should be able to beat your track first before it can be shared online. So there aren't any incomplete maps. This is such a good idea, I hope to see Nintendo go throw with this.

People like @Megalegacy are creating (hacked) courses already for MK7. I would personal like a official course creator. Heck, nearly every Nintendo game would be good with a [Insert Game Here] Creator.

I would absolutely love if they added that feature into the next Mario Kart game they come out with. I would honestly be the jerk that would make the tracks super hard so that no one would win XD Not easily anyway. Though I would also like to make a legit Donkey Kong track that takes racers through the first level of Donkey Kong Country while racing. That'd be pretty amazing.

Hm... yes but at the same time no, at least not anytime soon. Creating a racing track is much more difficult than a 2D platformer course, specially because it's three dimensional. Load times would be fairly long because the game has to download the track if played directly from the servers. Maybe in a future console wih better hardware and software capabilities (NX?!) they could make a simple track creator Mario Kart in the style of Mario Maker, make it have several themes from the different Mario Karts! :D I'd definitely love to have that kind of game.

That will be abousltly awesome if nintedon let us create our on own track in next mario kart game .

It is really going to fun to made a track , it will help us to set up the difficulty level according to our capabilities.

It will be even more fun if we able to play on the track we made with our friends or in online mode .

No, this won't happen. I don't think so anyways. If it did come out, I wouldn't use it either :p I could name tons of reasons why.

May know the reason plz ? :)

It might be possiable that nintendo make these features avaiable in upcoming because why not ! :p
I am pretty sure nintedo going to this give feature in any of its upcoming mario kart games or something like.

Here are some:
1. People could make inappropriate looking courses
2. Course editor would be very limited (well, for me atleast)
3. I'm not sure how Nintendo would align the values right. What I mean is, there are pairs of checkpoints, enemy routes, item routes etc. and the games are picky about where you put them. If you let the users align them themselves, there's a high risk of the game crashing.
4. Nintendo would probably face a hard time with assigning points if one part of the course is under another.

I wish nintendo would let us make our own tracks!! that would be awesome. i know of other games out that have a level editor. it would be cool with a mario kart game to have something like that!

I haven't even thought about anything like this! This would be an amazing idea nonetheless, and I would enjoy it very much! Maybe if they made this a DLC for Super Mario Maker... Nintendo could make even more money from us, because I for one would sure as heck buy it! :p
Either way, this is an amazing idea, and I hope to see it happen!

As much as I would like to see it happen, I also don't think it is possible. Each tiny section of the race would have to be created, and it would take simply too long for players. Also, the company would spend too much time adjusting everything so anything can be created.

A lot of racing games had track creators since playstation 1 lol RC Revenge, Revolt, Lego Stunt rally, etc lol Though, the high graphics of the games now makes rendering harder but they could at least make the track creator like making the tracks in the creator simple(Without any render of any kind) then after we finish the track, they let us pick our theme of the track or something along those lines lol

Nice idea, but think of how complex that would be. It is simply too unrealistic. There are hacks out there that do hack mario kart but they take way too much time and effort. Not only that, but creating courses would take days, vs hours that are used in Mario Maker. Still, I like the idea, but it will never happen.

I don't really think this is going to happen. Especially with the fact that a Mario Maker course takes minutes - hours.A Track could take all the way up to a month!I mean you have the ramps and items and shortcuts and background,It just too much stuff in a Mario Kart game to handle.and sure, you can make Mario Courses, But you only have 4 different gamestyles with a limited amount of things you can use.Nintendo only gives you the essentials you would NEED for a simple good made course.Heck, I managed to make a good course with only Day 1 and Day 2's essentials! Now, Mario Kart would be harder, with it being 3d instead of 2d, and other reasons

Yeah, I think it would be just too complicated and take a lot of time to create. I think Nintendo makes some pretty creative courses so I'm satisfied.

Same thoughts.Nintendo's tracks is enough for me :)

Though this is a pretty cool idea, I don't think Nintendo will do it plus it would be pretty hard for us to create our own stages. Super Mario Maker is simple since we are working on a 2d platform in that game. Also, each stage has a different layout and if we were to create our own stages, we would have pretty limited choices as to what to add in the track.

For example, Music Park and Rainbow Road have very different track layous. If we had the feature to put in tracks that are already there in the game, it would be like playing the same game over and over again.

While there are risks, you still can't really deny the possibilities. Maybe various sets of standards can be implemented in regards to Mega's reasons why it couldn't work xP

However, it may be too complicated if different elements could be added to a track. Designing a really good track or even just a decent one would take a lot of skill and consideration.

They definitely need that, I've been looking at my Mario Kart game for hours at a time thinking, I want to make my own course and put it online, countless times. But so far I'm limited to making hacked courses, which I haven't learned how to do yet
