Tatsumi Kimishima replaces Satoru Iwata, who passed away in July, as the new president of Nintendo with effect from September 16th. Previously he has served Nintendo as director of Nintendo of America, chief financial officer of the Pokemon Company, head of human resources and managing director.
Alongside the new presidential role, Nintendo has appointed two new ‘Fellows’ to provide advice because of their experience and knowledge; these Fellow roles have been given to more familiar faces for Nintendo gamers: Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of Mario, Zelda, Star Fox and Pikmin has been given the role of Creative Fellow; Genyo Takeda, creator of Punch-Out!, has been named Technology Fellow. All new roles will be fully established on September 16th.
