Hurricane: Day 22, Part Two
We arrived in a matter of seconds...It was thanks to Chloë. She immediately grabbed me and whooshed me next to the building. Yes, the building with all the debris flying around it, and the same building where this dark storm was coming from. I was ever so grateful. Jackson materialized next to me in the next second, looking sick.
"I hate it when she does that without warning," he groaned.
Evan came down from the sky in a fire-y blast. At least he had been wise. I glanced up. I could barely make out the two figures, but they were definitely going full force on each other. I ran inside the building, and punched the elevator button. It opened to the sound of Mozart playing. I hit the highest button, and kept the doors open while my friends crowded in. We had tied the wolf to a fire hydrant, and left the vests there. I was fairly sure nobody would try to steal from a wolf. Especially one that could turn into a raging monster. We arrived on the top floor(floor 48) and ran to a stairwell that said
ROOF in big red letters. I pushed against the door. It wouldn't budge. I backed up, and ran full force at the door, and it slammed open for half a second, spilling me onto my face on the other side, and shut immediately from the high winds on the roof, leaving my friends on the other side. I stood up, and looked around. There were two teens, both male, and they were fighting like there was an apocalypse coming, and only one could survive. One had golden light encased around his body, and a long golden sword. The other had completely black skin, as black as space. His eyes were completely red, no pupils, not anything but the color red. He had black armor, and a huge black sword. The only thing was that the midnight dude looked like he was in half slow motion. Even though he was moving super slowly, he was doing a good job attacking the other guy. The golden guy looked exhausted. He looked my age, but he was moving sluggishly as well, as if all his energy was drained. He looked at me for a split second, and was distracted. The midnight guy took the opportunity. He hit the golden guy with the flat of his blade, so hard the guy got knocked out immediately. He crumpled, and as he did, time turned to normal. I realized how the midnight guy had been able to move so well, while everything else around them had been so slow. As time returned to normal, the midnight guy lashed out faster then my eye could follow, but the next thing I knew, a lash of darkness slammed me in the chest, throwing me against the door so hard the solid steel crumpled. I fell to my knees, my head throbbing like I had just been hit with a bag full of bricks. I managed to get to my feet shakily. The midnight guy was staring at me, directly in front of my for half a second, then he vanished. He re-materialized behind me, coming from my shadow, and a wave of darkness slammed into me again. I was thrown ten feet into the air, and I crashed into the ground next to the golden guy. I groaned and rolled over, slowly standing. I unsheathed my sword, and the midnight guy recoiled.
"Son of the 4 elements, I shall dispose of you quickly," he hissed. I was about to come back with a sarcastic comeback, but his words washed over me like ice. Wait, 4 elements? He didn't give me time to ponder on that, because a sword made from darkness appeared in his other hand. Great. Now he had two big blades. I held up my sword, ready. He rushed at me, and in the last second, he de-materialized. I swung and hit nothing. Then, my instincts kicked into high-gear. I could feel the coldness passing through the ground, under my feet, as he re-materialized into my shadow. As he struck, my sword was already into motion. I locked my sword hilt into his, and twisted as hard as I could. His blade flew up into the air, and I leaped and grabbed it in midair. In midair still, I spun around and kicked him right in the chest. It apparently was a pretty hard kick, because he flew back into the door himself. I landed on my feet. He stood up slowly, shadows forming around him. They swirled menacingly. They lashed out, and I flew through the air, and fell over the side of the building. I managed to grab the edge, and hang on. I pulled myself up. He held out his hand, and a lash made of shadows formed. I raised my sword, and struck first. I lightning bolt slammed into his chest, throwing him into the door again. He stood up again, and two swords of shadows appeared in his hands. His face shook with rage His red eyes somehow turned even more red.
"YOU WILL D-" At that moment, the metal door hinges flew off, and the heavy metal door promptly fell on him, smothering him against the ground. On the other side were my friends. Jackson was crouching, a screwdriver in his hand, and wiggling his eyebrows at me with a mischievous grin on his face. "We miss anything?"
