Pokeumans: Chapter 12

Chapter 12

They had walked out of the entrance to the base, down the hall, up the spiraling staircase and to the door. They all slipped on their humanizing rings, and walked out of the door. As they were walking out of the doorway, Andy was thankful nobody was here today. How strange would it be to see people suddenly come out of a rock?

Xander turned towards the group. "Alright, guys. If my map was correct, the base should be nearby, within walking distance, even."

Andy's heart skipped a beat for a second. The base is near ours? Geez, that's really scary.

They had all started to walk up the mountain. Looking backwards, Andy could see the mountain he and Xander had the battle on. He was right, the peak seemed to be shrouded in clouds forever. Up ahead, he found that he could see a building at the top of the mountain. It looked like some kind of space station where they'd fire rockets off, but as they got closer it turned out to be a radio station.

Andy remembered seeing the Radio Station on the mountain, and had always wanted to go there. Now, he was, but he didn't expect it being with Pokemon to stop an evil organization.

When they had arrived to the tower, Andy could not help but feel amazed to see how natural this place seemed. It looked like a house on top of a mountain that had a radio antenna on it.

Andy chuckled a little. Bet you can't get any better reception for a radio station that isn't your own! If that is what the tower was for, anyway.

Xander stepped up and knocked on the door. A man with specs opened the door.

"Hello." Xander said. "It's bloody cold out here. Can we please come in?"

The man seemed to study Xander his crew for a moment. Then, he took out a spray bottle with purple liquud inside.

"Not today, Pokemon scum." At that, Xander quickly ripped off his ring, and punched the man in the chest. He slammed against a wall, and he fell down.

"Don't worry, guys, I only knocked him out, but he may come back soon." He motioned for everyone else to come inside. "You can take off your humanizing rings for now. There a good chance that the entrance is secured, so be sure to check everywhere."

They all split up, and looked around for clues. They took down paintings, messed with some items, lifted some things, until a keypad was found behind the photo copier. They all cheered.

"Yes! This is it!" The keypad looked like it would only take six numbers. They looked around to find the correct code, until someone found that the ID card the man had contained a six-digit code. They all surrounded the key pad as the Greninja of our team put in the code. He hit 'enter', and...

It didn't work. It beeped in denial, then went silent again. People started to panic a bit. Andy was also wondering what the code might be, but he kept the ID and a piece of paper with the number 34 that he found in his backpack.

He studied the room, and then noticed a particular picture. It was a Google fiber picture, but the word 'Google' was digitized. He had a theory.

"Hey, Troy! Can you please flip this picture upside down?" The Gallade did so, and Andy gasped with realization as 'Google' turned into '319009'. Andy punched the number in, and the keypad beeped a little victory beep. Andy and Troy cheered, and that attracted the attention of the rest of the team. They opened the little panel of the wall to find a door with a fingerprint lock. The Combusken of our team dragged the body of the man and pressed his finger against the lock. It confirmed, and it opened into a very wide passage with a ladder.

They climbed down the ladder in single file order, with the heaviest on the bottom and the lightest on the top. The team obviously could not contain their excitement and fear, and they talked as they climbed down.

"Why do you think they've made this so big?"
"Remember, they also send brainwashed Pokemon on their missions, so they need space for their members."
"Ah, okay!"

They eventually made it to the bottom of the ladder, and they were immediately greeted with Pokextinction members. They all prepared the sleep gasses. Before any of them could fire, though, we all used our moves to knock them out, but not before one of them pressed a button. We examined it to find that it was used to summon reinforcements.

Xander sighed. "Dang it, not quick enough." He turned to the group. "Alright, guys, forget about the humanizing ring. We've been discovered. Let's find out where that Jirachi is.

The group asked Andy if he would use his aura sensors from time to time to see if there were any oncoming foes. He agreed, and he could definitely see some aura blobs coming their way. Before they left, Andy proposed the idea of making seem like it was an accident. They proped the bodies to look like they partied too hard, and that one of them pressed the button in his drunk stupor.

They startind down a curving hall with some fancy rooms and machinery that Andy could not describe. He did, however, look into the process of a clone of a human friend of his being created, which grossed him out, but he kept going.

The team eventually found a set of offices that seemed to run the base. one of them was marked 34, and had a locked door. Andy was able to identify that this was indeed the purpose of the piece of paper he found. On the door, there was another keypad. He took out the man upstairs's ID and use the number to get in. He found a computer, and it was still open to a web page.

Andy called his group over, and Xander took a look at it.

"Holy cow! This is an HTML document about the Pokeumans and their history that I didn't know! It also describes the humanizing ring in greater detail! I've got to send this to myself."

"But what if it's a trick? What if they're lying!" A Pokemon cried out.

"Well, since Mr. X is way smarter than an Alakazam, I'll take his word for it." He opened a private window on the computer, then sent it to himself. He quickly logged out and closed the window, effectively destroying his history and blocking tracking.

"Alright, we don't have much time left. Andy, are you able to find Jirachi using the Aura sensing thingy?"

Andy gave a slight chuckle, then focused. He looked around, but he couldn't see anything. Although, he began to make out the huge Aura blob as a group of people surrounded over a much smaller Aura. He opened his eyes, and pointed in the direction of what he saw.

"Good, now lets-"
"Hello?" A meek and lowly voice whispered. "I-is anyone there?"

The team jumped a little before finding a strange, cosmic-like Pokemon floated in front of this.

Andy was a bit amazed at what he was seeing. "Is this a Pokemon? Or am I tripping?"

"It's Cosmog!" Xander said

"Cosmog?"

"Yeah, from the new Pokemon games. What were they called? Pokemon Sun and Moon? Yeah, that's the one. I've been studying all about these guys."

"You mean to say that Cosmog was created when Sun and Moon came out?"

"No, this Pokemon existed with the Pokemon in that history lesson I told you about. Each and every Pokemon exists, it's just that the Game Boy couldn't hold much memory or data. Can you imagine Pokemon Red and Blue having every single Pokemon? No, it's just that with each new generation and hardware upgrade, new Pokemon are revealed to humans."

Andy began to understand what was going on now. He turned to the Cosmog.

"Alright, you wouldn't happen to have a name, would you?"

"A name? What's that?"

"As I suspected. Are you a boy or a girl?"

"I'm a girl."

"Alright, I'll think of a name for you. Would you like to come with us?"

"Yes. But this place is so scary! Would it be alright if I went into your bag?

"Sure. Come on in!" Andy held open his bag. The Cosmog looked very happy as she cuddled her way into his bag.

As he zipped up the backpack, he realized that they've probably used up good time.

"Guys, we need to go right now."

The Machamp of the team stepped forward. "Just show me where the Jirachi is and I'll take care of it!" Any pointed towards the wall. "Alright, stand back!" The team did so, and the Machamp began carving a path through the walls, like a sort of tunnel.

Hang on, Jirachi, we're coming for you!
