Chapter 19
By the light of Claire's torch, the group descended down the icy steps of the cavern. The torch wouldn't melt any of the icy walls, as they were deemed 'immortal'. Everyone took each step carefully as to prevent slipping and giving themselves away. They went like this for a while until the hit the landing. The sudden surprise of the landing made Claire drop her torch, which was put out and stuck in her tail.
They looked around, their eyes dilating in the darkness, when Andy found a green glow just ahead.
"Guys! What's that?" They stood and looked at the green glow intently. It occurred to Andy that that was a Time Gear. He could see the gear in a huge green gear that was made of energy. It was turning like clockwork, moving other green energy gears that did not posses a gear.
They did a little cheer and started to move towards the gear, when the green glow as obscured by a large object.
"Finally. This is your first Time Gear, huh? Well, it's mine now. You want it?" The cave suddenly lit up to reveal a towering Kyurem. "Then, come and get it!"
The Kyurem opened it's mouth and let out a blast of energy that blew everyone away.
"Woah!" West shouted. "Is that guy controlled or so?!"
"I don't think so!" Claire replied. "His eyes aren't gray! We'll just have to sort this out later."
"I agree with Claire!" Josh grunted. "Let's give this guy a bloody lip!"
They all jumped in different directions. Josh used his slash attacks to keep Kyurem distracted while Claire was using fire-type moves. West had gotten one of the tools packed in his bag and was using it on Kyurem. It was firing energy blasts at different parts of Kyurem's body. Andy kept using Dragon pulse.
Kyurem suddenly roared, giving a kind of shockwave blast that once again knocked everyone away. It gathered ice and used Glaciate on Josh. It hit Josh pretty well, but he just chuckled and broke though the ice, as if he had not taken any damage.
Andy took some time to see if he could find some way to defeat Kyurem faster. He thought about how he and Troy used the Psyco-Pulse they used against Ridley at the base, when he got an idea. He pounded Kyurem with one more Dragon Pulse before he leapt to Claire.
"Claire! I have an idea! I'm going to be using Dragon pulse, and I need you to use Flamethrower on the energy!"
"What? Well, alright, if you know what you're doing!"
Andy concentrated and released a Dragon Pulse. Claire took the stick, which was now lit, and breathed on it. The result was like Hairspray being sprayed in open flame. The flame and pulse met, and Kyurem was greeted with a Fire tornado. Since it was both a Dragon and Ice type, it hit Kyurem with a lot of force, severely dropping it's energy.
It dropped to the floor, and as it tried to get up, West got another tool and shot it at Kyurem. This one released an electric blast that seemed to paralyze Kyurem. After that, they wailed attack after attack until Kyurem stopped them.
"Wait! I admit defeat! Stop attacking!" They all backed away as Kyurem stumbled to it's feet. "Thank you all for freeing me. That was an intense battle."
"Why did you attack us! Were you brainwashed by Mr. X?"
"No. I was not brainwashed, but I was influenced?"
"Influenced?"
"Yes. You see, every living thing gives off an influence to others around it. Some are weak in power, but others are very strong. Mr. X has a strong influence among the world, and it is spreading around the globe. It cannot be seen, nor physically stopped, but it can be resisted. I was not that strong."
"So, I guess Mr. X's influence is really that dangerous, huh? Nobody is safe."
"Correct. As for now, take the Time Gear. You will need it to save everything." Kyurem stumbled to the wall of the cavern, and froze itself over as it fell into deep slumber.
West couldn't seem to take the measure of their accomplishment. "We...we actually did it!" He jumped. "Yay! But...Josh, for a Grass type, you really did survive that ice attack!" At that, he was slapped by Josh.
"You thought I was really a Grass type?! I'm an Ice and Dark, fool!"
They all laughed; everyone was exuberant about their victory that it felt like nothing could get them down.
After their semi-celebration, they walked towards the Time Gear.
"Andy," West cleared his throat. "I think that you can be able to eject the gear with the Aura. Can you do that?"
"I'll try." Andy stepped up to the gear and lifted a paw to touch it. It was very cool to the touch as Andy gathered Aura energy to it.
I sure hope I'm doing this right. He felt the gear also radiate some Aura energy. As the gear glowed, it was slowly sliding out of the position it was in. It soon fully came out, floating downwards and resting on the ice. Andy's body stiffened, almost expecting all time to stop, but the energy gears were still ticking, even with their main power source missing from it's usual spot.
Andy got his bag and retrieved the little gear carrier he found in his bag. He slit the gear into a slot, and it came to a nice rest.
"Woohoo! Good job Andy!" Claire cheered.

They returned to the surface, just when new ice had formed over the opening. They made it back to the cruise ship with their rings on. They went inside their cabin to fund a huge mess!
"Yeah, typical." Josh dismissed. "It's common knowledge that when bad guys look for something, they have bad cleaning manners. But hey, no one's here!" They sighed in relief.
They closed and locked the door, slipped of their Humanizing Rings, and cleaned up the mess to it's original state. They spent their time in the cabin for the remainder of the ship's stay. When the ship gave the final whistle for the departure, they set to sea.
The group laid out their map in their table, and put a slash across the Antarctica mark on their map. One down, seven to go.
"Okay," West started. "We went from Ushuaia to Antarctica, and we are going back there again. There is a ship that goes from there to Australia we can hit to get to Melbourne."
"And it looks like it's a freight ship, too! We can probably take the car with us." Claire said.
"Yes. However, if what Kyurem said is correct, Mr. X's influence is spreading around the world. We'll have to be careful-"
"Or, give off our own influence to help people! That is another possibility."
"Yeah." Josh nodded in Agreement. "But for now, let's sleep. I'm tired."
