Pokeumans: Chapter 2

Chapter 2

When Andy had developed enough of a conscience, he felt a hard, metallic floor with, and his arms and feet were bound tightly. His suspicion was confirmed when he had opened his eyes. He was in the back of a large van. The surrounding area was littered with boxes, and light was streaming through the windows nearby. A wall blocked his side of the van from the driver's.

"Okay, there goes the weekend." Andy surveyed the surrounding area. "Let's see if I can't find the way out of here."

The first thing Andy noticed was that his arms were bound with rope, not chains or anything metal. That was good; it means it can be cut.

He next searched for anything sharp. The boxes looked well, but the edges were probably sanded very well. Other than those, everything else looked flat.

Then, he saw his knife, in it's sheath, just a little ways ahead.

"Alright, if I can just reach it..." He tried to sit up, but found he was attached to the wall.

"No! This isn't good!"

Now, Andy could do nothing but wait.

So here he sat; still bound, still kidnapped, still riding each pothole the van came across. This was just not his day.

He fell asleep for a while, but when he woke up, the van had stopped, and night had fallen. The back of the van was left ajar, and Andy noticed that his ropes had been cut. He took this opportunity to grab his knife and bolt out the doors.

When he was outside, he saw van parts in front of him. Looking behind, the van was totaled, and the drivers were missing.

Andy noticed that whatever happened what not an accident, nor was there any form of rock slide or anything. The van was just demolished, like a crushed soda can. But how did I not feel anything?

I heard some footsteps from the top of the van, and a young voice called from behind.

"Hello, Pokemon-to-be!"

Pokemon-to-be? Has this guy been partying too hard last night, or...?

I looked behind to find not a person, but a Gallade with a blue bandana.

...what was in that purple stuff?

Andy thought he was just seeing things, but whe the Gallade jumped down to his level, the ground vibrated. Sure enough, this was very real.

"It took you a while to get up! I was about to leave and hide!" He readjusted his bandana and stretched his blade-hand thing out. "Glad I didn't! No way you'd find the base!"

Andy tried to remain calm to look professional, but in the inside, questions were going off like fireworks in his mind.

"Anyway, my name is Troy! You must be Andy? I've heard a thing or two about you-" He stopped when he heard a twig snap in the distance. He suddenly became very serious. "We don't have much time here. We need to hurry."

Troy pointed to the lake nearby. "Do you see that boulder over there?"

Andy looked over, and he did. He recognized the rock; its graffiti covered surface provided a wonderful climbing place.

"We're going over there. Take my hand and hold on." Andy did so, and the world suddenly dissipated, and quickly re-formed at the base of the rock. Andy couldn't help but to feel slightly sick.

"That was teleport. Sorry, friend. You'll get used to it."

Troy ran to the base of the rock. He touched an odd-looking stone, and a doorway suddenly appeared. Winding stairs led down into the earth.

"We're here! I'll let you go first."
