Pokeumans Chapter 3

Pokeumans Chapter 3

Chapter 3

Andy, followed by Troy, was led down the spiraling steps. With each step that he took, Andy grew more nervous and fearful. First, he was kidnapped, and then he saw a formal Gallade who used teleport to lead him down a darkening spiral staircase.

He didn't know if he was going to die, or be held hostage, or be tortured for anything, but he pressed forward, fearing the Gallade would turn aggressive if he showed any sings of resistance.

And so he walked, counting every step to pass the time. It seemed like this staircase wouldn't end until it hit the center of the earth. He thought so until he tripped on flat ground. It seems they had finally arrived to their destination.

He turned to the right. There was a long, darkened hallway, and at the end, a glass door with artificial light pouring through.

"Hold on there, friend!" Troy grabbed the back of Andy's shirt and pulled him back. "It's best that I go first, but you must stay very close to me. In fact, you might want to hold on to me for a little bit."

Andy at first didn't know how to hold a Pokemon with a spike comming out of it's chest, but he decided to just loop his arms around his neck in a gentle manner. That way, if the Gallade turned to strike, Andy could choke him.

It had turned out that this Gallade probably was his friend, and that his desire to help was genuine. Thus, the two traversed down the long, darkened hallway.

They finally made it to the end, and the door was in fact an entrance to an elevator. When they got in, Troy pushed the button, and the elevator surged downwards.

After a few seconds the elevator stopped, and the doors opened, and there was a wall. Andy could now start to hear many voices, as if a crowd of people were congregating and chatting.

Andy touched the wall, and it disappeared. It dawned on Andy that that was a barrier. A Mr. Mime, perhaps?

Beyond the wall, Andy saw Pokemon. A whole lot of them. But they didn't make any grunts or growls, but instead, like the Gallade beside him, talked in English. They were also carrying books and some backpacks, and were all walking in some different directions.

Troy nudged my arm. "Don't be too amazed. If things go like it should, you'll be like one of them soon." One of them. An image of that man appeared in his mind. Could that be what he meant? Being one of the Pokemon?

"Troy, who was those men? The ones who were driving?"

"I might provide some insufficient information for you if I answer that. I know someone who can answer your question."

Andy was then directed to the left. There, he saw a door that was lined with gold and had stained glass pictures of some Pokemon. It was very beautiful, and pretty to look at. But Troy wasn't here for such imagery. He wanted to help Andy out.

They approached the door, and Troy opened it. Inside, he saw a Bisharp working on a computer. The keys were typing away furiously.

Troy knocked on the desk.

"Hello, Troy." The Bisharp said, without looking up from the screen. "Do we have a guest?"

"Yes. His name is Andy, and I've come to have him registered into the base." The Bisharp looked up for a moment, and then clicked on the keyboard more.

"Okay, you can go into the next room." Andy was then directed to another door, similar to the one outside, but a little smaller than the entrance to the office. Andy opened the door, and looked inside. An Aggron was at a large desk. On one side of the Pokemon, there was a large sheet of paper. On the other, a computer. The Aggron was switching between the two, and didn't notice anything until Andy closed the door.

The huge Pokemon looked up. "Hello! My name is Xander. Come and have a seat!" Andy sat down, and realized that Troy was not in the room with them. "Would you like a drink?"

"May I please have water?"

"Sure! Just wait a sec!" Xander reached into the Mini Fridge, and grabbed a bottle of water. "Good thing I kept some bottles here. Just because I'm a ground type doesn't mean I don't need water!"

He handed Andy a bottle and walked towards his desk. "Now then, I believe this has come of a bit of shock to you. No need to feel afraid. Once I explain things to you, you might understand. What is your name."

Andy took a pause from drinking to respond. "My name is Andy."

Xavier nodded. "Alright! Where should we start?"

"I guess we can start from what's going on."

Xavier nodded. "A good question! Hang on a second."

The Aggron proceeded to his desk, and he opened a drawer. After digging through a lot of files, he eventually found a large document.

"Okay, let's see here...'Have you grown fur, or a tail? Maybe some claws? Then you might be a Pokeuman! A Pokeuman is a special term used to describe a person with Pokemon genes!'"

"'It all started a few years after the dinosaurs, but before the humans. This was the time Pokemon walked the earth. They were intelligent, and build such complex technologies and a successful society. Everyone was happy, and everyone got along.'"

"'Then, humans came along. The human was strange. The Pokemon saw them as strange creatures. After a large council, the Pokemon wanted to become friends with the humans. They taught them all they knew, lived with them, and told them the secrets of the universe. Everything was perfect."

"'Of course, the humans soon became corrupt. The knowledge was too much for their minds to handle, and so they sought to war with the Pokemon. It went on for a while, and the Pokemon decided they could not be trusted anymore, and had to do something to save the Pokemon race."

"'With the help of Azelf, Mespirit, and Uxie, the minds of humans were wiped clean, all advances reset, and Pokemon could be disguised as humans. These Pokemon had to act like the humans to fit in.'"

"'Then, the Pokemon had children with the humans so they can live on.' Which, Andy, is actually totally okay, so no arguments need to be raised. 'The children of these couples seemed to be normal human children at first, but then the genes of their Pokemon ancestors kicked in, and so, some kids went to becoming Pokemon."

"'That, of course, got the Pokemon parents to worry, so they've created little basses across the world to harbor their children.'"

Xander began leafing through the book. "Okay...blah, blah, blah, history, blah, blah, blah, Mew, blah, blah, blah, oh, yes! This is important!"

"'Enter Mr. X, who was once a human scientist that found a Mew hair in the jungle. He was experimenting on cloning and memory, and he thought of this as a breakthrough. But the experiment went awry. It exploded, taking the lives of all but X and another guy. When the dust settled, Mr. X was transformed into a Mewtwo. He gained knowledge of the Pokeumans, and now seeks out to destroy them. He created Pokextinction, and continues his terrible rule to this day."

Xander threw the document to the floor. "That was boring. I'm never reading that again. Next time, I'm paraphrasing it into something simpler." He sat at his desk. "Do you have any questions?"

Andy processed what he could from that. Yes, it was boring, but he got the most crucial details.

"Can you tell me more about Pokextinction?"

"Pokextinction is a group founded by Mr. X. They seek out Pokeumans, and when they find them, they spray them with a purple gas. They take them back to their nearest base, and brainwashes them. They also make clones of the original human, so it'll be as if they never started turning."

"Clones? Do I have one?"

"Well, if you're here, yes. These clones talk like you, act like you, think like you. Nobody would tell the difference."

"So, my ancestor is a Pokemon?"

"Yes. And from the looks of it, that ancestor was a Lucario. I might be wrong. Do you know how many Pokemon have red eyes?"

"Okay. What about the Teleport move? Wouldn't Pokextinction just use a Pokemon to teleport themselves in here?"

"Magic. I don't know how, but for some reason, no Pokemon can teleport inside from outside, and vice versa."

"Wouldn't staying underground be very unhealthy?

"Again, magic. Some smart Pokemon made it so that the lights give out Vitamin D. They also change brightness according to the sun outside! Pretty cool, huh?"

Andy nodded. Very cool!

When Andy had no more questions, Xander was turning to his computer, but them saw the knife on Andy's belt.

"Could you please hand you knife to me?" Andy hesitated, but gave it to him anyway. "Don't worry, it won't be gone forever. I just need to mess with it. You probably won't use Pokemon moves for a while, anyway"

After some intense typing, the Aggron gave Andy a key. "Use this to get into your room. Here's a map, too. I'll mail you your stuff tomorrow. You're dismissed!"
