So as many of you know, last night was prom night for me. I had a great time, probably the best in my life, and I figured I should share my experience with you guys!
^that's the most you'll see of me...
"Omg wtf is that, that's not a tux"
True, but who's to say that I'm going to buy/rent a tuxedo from some suit store when I have this convenient and unique Indian "Sherwani". =p
The theme of the prom was "The Great Gatsby", (Shoutout to anyone who's read/watched it) and I didn't really have anything to go with the theme so I just kinda made up my own rule and went with the Indian wear.
So prom started at around 8PM, and me being me decided to arrive at 7:30PM with a few of my friends. I had to be the driver, since I was the only one who could drive and offered to do so for free (well not really, you'll figure out why later...)
So I know you guys might be thinking "What about your prom date? Do you even have one?"
Well this is actually interesting because at the start of prom, I didn't because all the girls I wanted to prom-pose to were already taken so I just decided to go with friends. I personally didn't mind, because I would much rather have it be that I'm with my friends and not worry about all that lol. Then one girl's prom date was sadly unable to make it to prom, because of a last minute family thing that popped up (still need o be filled in on that ;- so he told me to be his girl's date. She was cool with it, and I was cool with it too, so that's how that worked out. We got along really well to begin with, so this was just a nice little outing for us as prom dates.
The whole night was beautiful, and I loved slow dancing with my prom date, it made me feel like nothing else in the world mattered at that moment, and all the stuff I had stressed over in my mind just disappeared, and I loved it.
I'm gonna low-key put it out there that we had a pretty trash D.J., mostly because he kept randomly pausing the songs to say something that didn't really make sense, for example, he had Adele's "Hello" playing, and before the first line came out, he paused it to say something like "I hope you're ready to rock!" or something unrelated, overall killing the mood of all the songs. Sucked too because I actually liked some of the songs that were playing but he kinda ruined it.
Prom food? Oh boy that thing goes by fast. Food was taken out at 9, gone by 10. I mean grub was just that great, we had quesadillas, 3-cheese tortellini, hot wings, and chicken strips (guess what the vegetarian was limited too >.>). Oh yea not too mention we ran out of water by 10:30 so we had to go outside to the water fountains if we wanted a drink lol...
And before you ask, no I didn't run for Prom King, mostly because I already knew that I was gonna lose. Plus the girls running for Prom Queen weren't really people I wanted to slow dance with, mostly because they were all the "Drama Queens" of our class.
Let's see here, I covered my prom "tux", my prom date, prom food, dance, and overall experience. What could possible be left? Oh yea, the most important part - The Afterparty.
What can I tell you about that?? Well, literally nothing, because I don't think that's something appropriate to talk about on Pedia, plus the fact that I didn't even go lol. In fact, if you were on Pedia around 2:30 PM Pedia time, you might have seen me talk about my other plan after prom. And what could you possibly do after midnight after prom anyways? We'll as a traditional non-afterparty goer we decided what better place to go than too....
Yes, IHOP. Because Pancakes are amazing for some reason after you spend an entire night in elegance.~
Yup, didn't get home till around 3AM that night xD.
So yea, that was pretty much my experience at prom. I loved it a lot, and I hope that those of you highschoolers that are working your way up to become seniors would look forward to this (and do so more than me, because at first I really didn't know whether I wanted to go or not).
I hope you guys enjoyed reading, because I sure enjoyed experiencing it =D
Now to go back to real life...
