SCENE 5 - KIDNAPPING IS WRONG!

SCENE 5 - KIDNAPPING IS WRONG!

THINGS TO SEE AND DO:
- Stay at the hotel and you'll start receiving psychic messages from a girl from Twoson.
- Talk to the guy sitting at the table at the hotel until he relents and gives you $50.
- Be sure to get a bike from the bicycle shop. Store it with Escargo Express when you're done.
- Call your mom if you haven't yet! Calling her will cure homesickness.
- Visit Mach Pizza to get the delivery number. Now you can order pizza wherever you go!
- Buy the Copper Bracelet in Burglin Park, and get the Teddy Bear from Paula's house.
- Make sure you buy the For Sale Sign in Burglin Park! Its usefulness makes up for the price.
- Buy fresh eggs, wait for them to turn into chickens, then sell them for a nice $98 profit each!
- Take a bus to Threed - some pretty freaky stuff will happen!
- Shoot the breeze with the Runaway Five members outside the Chaos Theater. They're cool dudes.

The citizens in Twoson are abuzz about the recent kidnapping of Paula, a local (and very special, as you'll soon find out) girl. Go to the Polestar preschool where she lives and talk to her parents. Her mom isn't worried and her dad apparently isn't aware that she's missing, even though the rest of Twoson is. Don't forget to grab the Teddy Bear from upstairs!

The suspicious-looking people in Burglin Park talk about their boss, Everdred. He's waiting for you atop his house, but beware! He'll make you fight, and he can be pretty tough. Just make sure you're at close to full power before you approach him. For an easy battle, use PSI Rockin alpha 2 or 3 times. For a harder one, use bash and keep your HP up over 50 or so. (Note: Everdred will steal food from you if you're carrying it.)

A good place to build up your levels a little is the long street leading south of town. You'll be attacked by various drunks, cranky ladies, hippies and others as you walk up and down this street. They're fairly easy to defeat and you should be able to build 3 or 4 levels fairly quickly by fighting them. If you get low on energy just return north and sleep at the hotel. For a great moneymaking scheme see the Twoson guide.

If you try to take a bus to Threed, you're in for a surprise -- it's not going to be that easy! Just when you think you've made it, the music will freak out and you'll find yourself back in Twoson. Hey, isn't there a girl you should rescue first anyway?

There are two kid inventors asking for $200 in funding, Orange Kid and Apple Kid. Orange Kid will give you the pretty-useless Suporma, but Apple Kid will help you for the rest of the game, so give the money to him. He'll also ask you for food. If you don't want to give him a good food item, buy a condiment in Burglin Park for $2 or $3 and he'll accept it. Then give him the money. His pet mouse will give you the Receiver Phone as a reward.

When you feel you're up to it, rest up to full power, get a Teddy Bear or two, and then head east to the cave. Work your way through, fighting off the Mobile Sprouts that attack you. Once on the other side of the cave, you won't get far, because a giant iron pencil (why not?) will be in your way. You don't have any other choice, so head back to Twoson. Apple Kid will give you a call when you get there.

Apple Kid's not at his house, but Orange Kid will inform you that he's at Burglin Park (one of the few useful things he does in the whole game). Specifically, he's resting near a tree in the southwest corner of the park, near Everdred's house. When you find him, he will give you the Pencil Eraser, which (as you probably guessed) is your ticket past the iron pencil statue.
