The Legend of Zelda: Intertwined Destinies. part 14 C

Zelda began to work on a simple dish of baked fish under Lynette's tutelage.
First, Zelda had properly shaved the trout of scales, grinding a thin knife over its slippery hide. Then she cleaned and hollowed out its inside, removing inedible parts of it. When she was through, she wrapped it in a thick paper.

"You should be able to place it in the oven now." Lynette instructed. Zelda does as she's told, and deposits the fish into the oven.
"You did well Tetra, we should check on it in about fifteen minutes." she said simply. Lynette bekoned Zelda to a table covered with a layer of flower. "The day's still young, let's work on the bread shall we?" Zelda nodded and followed her to the table.

Zelda concentrated on the fresh lump of dough in her hands, shaping it to a thick oval shape. Lynette looked over Zelda's handywork and nodded in approval.
"You've got the idea Tetra," Lynette motioned for Zelda to place the bread in a seperate oven. "It will take less time for the bread to bake than the fish." said Lynette, and Zelda placed the bread in the hot oven while Lynette closed it. Zelda felt that she was getting better the more she learned. "You're certainly a fast learner Tetra." Lynette said impressed, Zelda smiled.
"Because you're a good teacher Lynette," she responded. Lynette was flattered by Zelda's compliment.

Zelda went to check the trout, and was saddened to see the end result. The paper had darkened and the fish came out with an unfortunate burnt layer, darkened on its surface and edges. The burnt parts looked too hard for a fork or knife to cut through it, but most of it appeared to be edible. She felt foolish for burning the fish.
"I'm sorry," she apoligized.
"Don't worry Tetra," Lynette reasured, "You just need to watch it more closely next time."
"Thank you." Zelda smiled.

(I had to do some research on cooking fish in an oven for this chapter. Forgive these chapters if their a little slow...)
