The Woman Amidst

Her feet stretched outward, reaching the cold, marble floor finally. The sheer iciness of the marble was a shock. She slid upwards and tip-toed through the halls of the grand temple. Through great hallways and arches. The woman always wondered. Her tongue knew no speech. Her skin never knew a touch. Her eyes never saw a soul. The woman still wondered. She comprehended that the world around her was only what her mind could handle. The woman stepped longingly through the long, straight passages of the temple, barefoot. Forever searching, for the next room, the next wall. She knew not a world that surround the temple. The world surrounding the temple did not know her. She lived in a trance, always exploring a world so normal to her, yet so foreign. The woman thought her world was all there was. And her world was all there was.
