Hello everybody! So this is going to be an entry about why I enjoyed playing, and still do, Pokemon Pearl is my favorite Pokemon game ever.
The reasons why are a bit personal.
When I was younger, I watched my sister play hardcore on her DS, and gameboys. I was filled with envy watching her float around as Kirby, play minigames in Mario, and go through gyms in Pokemon.
The time came when I could finally get my little hands on a DS, and when I did, It came with Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. (I'll include a picture of the DS, just if you care at all. '_')
But anyways, the day I got this DS, I discovered that two kids from my school loved in the same culdesac as me. Me and my little brother would go there every single day and play Pokemon until the sun went down.
I remember that like it was yesterday, enjoying the slowness of Pokemon Pearl, just floating along the story with my purposefully unevolved Piplup.
Sending what were the first glimpses of memes to my friends every once in a while.
While others complained about the slowness and boringness of Diamond and Pearl, we just enjoyed it. As a group of four, we traded, showed off Pokemon, and battled each other, the way Pokemon was made to be played.
I look back on these tranquil years as some of the best in my life.
My life was stable and calm, I actually lived very close to the ocean, in a small town that was quiet and filled with people seemingly right out of a cartoon. They had character, but were good people. A culdesac filled with kids from the same school all playing Pokemon games right off the bus every day was wonderful, and I will always enjoy the memory of.
Pokemon Diamond and Pearl.
